Abstract: A structural element, for use as a furniture support, includes a pair of support members, one of which defines an upwardly facing recess and the other of which defines a downwardly facing recess. Each support member is engaged within the recess of the other support member, for providing ease of disassembly. Each support member includes a pair of outwardly extending lower legs, which engage a supporting surface. Each support member further includes an upper support arm and an intermediate support arm located below the upper support arm and the legs. The upper support arms of the support members engage and support a first use surface, and the intermediate support arms engage and support a second use surface at an elevation between the first use surface and the legs. The structional element also contemplates a stabilizing structure for an assembled support post of the type described.

Abstract: A device for use in a kneeling-like sitting position having a per se known, optionally tiltable and optionally height-adjustable chair seat on a chair supporting a person's posterior, and having at least one cushion supporting the person's knee/calf area, said cushion or cushions being supported by a support frame, which preferably is detachably mounted on the frame of the chair or parts of said frame. Optionally, a five-branch crossed base may form part of the chair frame, said support frame being made to engage with the outer section of two of the branches of the crossed base.

Abstract: A sitting device for freely chosen or fixedly attached mounting on a floor and on a subframe, or for attachment to vertical surfaces, said device comprising an array of supporting faces consisting of at least two such faces, neighboring supporting faces having different positions. One of the two neighboring supporting faces may serve to support the posterior of the occupant and the other to support the calf. Alternatively one serves to support the back and the other to support the posterior. The supporting faces comprise a forwardly inclined seat cushion and a calf cushion forming a mutual angle of at least 90.degree.. The supporting faces may be arranged at a distance from each other and with free space between these. They may be mechanically linked with each other. A set of two posterior supports, a common calf support and a common table is provided.

Abstract: A supporting device for use in a kneeling-like sitting posture having means for simultaneously supporting the seat and ankle portions of the user. Means are also provided to support the leg portions of the user.

Abstract: A sitting device with a seat, the inclination of which may be altered relative to a floor, supporting means along being arranged below and substantially in front of said seat for the knee or calf leg portions of the user, the supporting means being arranged at the front portion of the frame of the device in the form of two cushions spaced apart to provide a free space from the front and in towards the seat, and the seat being fixedly connected to the frame, said frame being provided with substantially curved runners to contact the floor and said supporting means being arranged at the front ends of the runners. The runners may at a middle portion thereof have a bend to define a transition between sections of the runners. The sitting device may have a back rest. Instead of a fixedly connected seat and runners, the seat may be hinged connected to the frame and forwardly tiltable.
