  • Patent number: 6068826
Abstract: In a method for reducing the amount of chloride components in cement clinker kilns at least a portion of the chloride-containing gases is removed from the kiln chamber. The gases are guided into a condenser whereby the gas temperature is maintained at a value above the condensation temperature of the chloride components. The chloride components are then cooled on cooled condensation surfaces of the condenser to a value below the condensation temperature. The cleaned gases are removed from the condenser and preferably returned into the kiln chamber. The condensation surfaces are continuously or discontinuously cleaned, and the removed chloride crystals are taken out of the condenser.

  • Patent number: 5730590
Abstract: An inlet for introducing raw material into a rotary drum has a chute made of a metal mantle and an inner lining of refractory material. The chute has a forward end for connecting it to the rotary drum. A hollow collar is detachably connected to the forward end of the chute so as to extend into the rotary drum. The collar is closed toward the rotary drum. The collar has surfaces facing the rotary drum. The surfaces have a heatproof, ceramic protective lining against abrasion. The collar has a back side facing the forward end of the chute. The back side has a projection for connecting the collar to the chute.

  • Patent number: 5441171
Abstract: An air cannon for removing cakes of flowable material and clearing clogged areas of flowable material in silos, heat exchanger and lines has a pressure container for storing compressed air and a pressure source connected to the pressure container. An outlet valve is connected to the pressure container. An outlet jet is connected to the outlet valve. The outlet valve has a valve housing and a piston, wherein the valve housing has a guide in which guide the piston is axially slidable. An annular channel is formed between the valve housing and the guide. The annular channel is connected to the pressure container and, in the open position of the outlet valve, forms a cylindrical opening that opens into the outlet jet. The piston has a forward end face facing the outlet jet and having an annular valve sealing surface. The rearward end face of the piston is subjected to a suddenly releasable closure pressure.

  • Patent number: 5441081
Abstract: An immersion tube for a cyclone has a plurality of rings stacked atop one another and connected to one another. Each ring is comprised of a plurality of plate-shaped segments. The plate-shaped segments of one ring are suspended under the force of gravity from the plate-shaped segments of another ring positioned above said one ring for connecting the segments of each ring to one another. Each segment has contact surfaces for connecting each segment of the one ring to the segments of the other ring positioned above said one ring, wherein the contact surfaces comprise first inclined planes facing outwardly with respect to the immersion tube. Preferably, the contact surfaces comprise also second inclined planes facing inwardly with respect to the immersion tube.

  • Patent number: 4955986
Abstract: A method for the heat treatment of finely granular material, particularly for the manufacture of cement, employs a preferably multi-stage cyclone preheater (2), a rotary tubular kiln (1), a cooler (6) and a kiln off-gas line (5) which is formed between rotary tubular kiln (1) and cyclone preheater (2). The off-gas lines provides a passage substantially in upward direction for the off-gases of the rotary tubular kiln (1) and receives tertiary air fed thereto for the combustion of additional fuel. The tertiary air is provided in two streams from the cooler (6), which cooler is connected behind the rotary tubular (1) on the material side, the streams being introduced into the kiln off-gas line (5) at different heights. In order to separate the combustion of the additional fuel from the precalcination and to avoid the production of injurious nitrogen oxides (NO.sub.

  • Patent number: 4929178
Abstract: A method for the heat treatment of finely granular material, particularly for the production of cement, employs a multi-stage cyclone preheater, a rotary tubular kiln, a cooler, and a single kiln off-gas line which is formed between the rotary tubular kiln and the cyclone preheater and is flown through substantially in upward direction by the off-gasses of the rotary kiln and to which tertiary air is fed in two partial-streams for the combustion of additional fuel. The method employs steps of feeding fuel to a lower partial stream of tertiary air, directing material to be treated above a second partial stream of tertiary air, and applying precalcined material in countercurrent with the off-gas line below the tertiary air.

  • Patent number: 4750436
Abstract: In order to create a technically more effective and more economical method of decontamination by which complete decomposition of all injurious substances is obtained in simple fashion, it is proposed, in connection with a method and a plant for the treatment of contaminated soils, that the drying can be combined in a mill passed through by hot gases with a crushing of the material to a particle size of 0 to 10 mm, that after the drying the material, together with the gaseous phase, be treated in the form of a solid/gas dispersion in a heating and decontamination path with burner, with a temperature within the range of 800.degree. C. to 1200.degree. C.
