  • Patent number: 9390588
Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, methods, systems and articles of manufacture provide for populating a plurality of game symbol positions with primary game symbols affecting a first aspect of the game such that a single primary game symbol is placed in each game symbol position; overlaying, on a randomly selected game symbol position, a special symbol affecting a second aspect of the game, such that the special symbol hides from view the single primary game symbol in the randomly selected game symbol position; outputting a game interface to a player which shows the game symbol positions as populated with the placed primary game symbols and overlaid with the special symbol; and removing the special symbol from the game interface, thereby revealing the single game symbol hidden from view by the special game symbol.

  • Patent number: 9349250
Abstract: A linked gaming device system in which a plurality of gaming devices are linked by a common bonus event is provided. In one embodiment, the linked gaming device system includes a shared symbol generation display positioned adjacent to each of a plurality of associated gaming devices and having a plurality of sections and values displayed at each section. Upon a triggering of the bonus event, any player eligible to participate in the bonus may achieve an outcome generated from the bonus event including the shared display. When the shared display is activated, it simultaneously generates an individual outcome associated with each gaming device. The outcomes are spatially related to one another so that a random generation of an outcome associated with one gaming device automatically generates random outcomes associated with each gaming device. However, each gaming device receives the outcome only if it has participated in the random generation.

  • Publication number: 20150248813
Abstract: In some embodiments, a player may influence the volatility of a bonus round of a game by placing elements collected during a primary game onto symbol positions of the bonus round. In some embodiments, if a symbol position onto which a player placed one or more bonus round symbols is selected as an active symbol position for an event instance of the bonus round, the player wins a prize. Additionally, a multiplier may be applied to the value of the prize or other benefit may be provided to the player if the player placed more than one bonus round symbol element on the position. Thus, a player having a plurality of bonus round symbols to place may choose to increase the frequency of prizes won (e.g., by distributing the bonus round symbols over more positions) or increase the value of prizes (e.g., by grouping more symbols on fewer positions).
