  • Patent number: 6533211
Abstract: A method of operating a textile machine for producing cheeses, at whose workstations (1) yarn (2) is unwound from supply bobbins (3), checked, cleaned of yarn defects and wound onto larger-volume cheeses (4) during which the yarn defects occurring the winding process in a given yarn length are registered. When a predetermined number of yarn joinders is exceeded within a predetermined reference yarn length, the winding process is stopped and the yarn length with the excessive number of joinders, already wound onto the cheese, is removed from the cheese (4).

  • Patent number: 6340129
Abstract: A method for operating a work station (10) of a cheese-making textile machine. A work station computer (32) communicates with a tensile yarn force sensor (54) for monitoring the tensile yarn force of a yarn (22) traveling from a supply bobbin (12) to a takeup bobbin (14). A yarn tensioner (36) regulates the tensile yarn force of this yarn and a yarn cutting device (52) performs a controlled severing of the running yarn. According to the invention, the work station computer (32) predetermines the contact pressure (APD) of a yarn braking device (114, 116) of the yarn tensioner (36) acting on the yarn (22) in accordance with the tensile yarn force ascertained by the tensile yarn force sensor (54), compares the predetermined contact pressure (APDist) with a predetermined contact pressure value (APDmax), and interrupts the bobbin winding process if the limit value is attained or exceeded for a predetermined time period (t2−t1).

  • Patent number: 6270033
Abstract: A method for operating the winding heads of a bobbin winding machine each of which respectively has a yarn tension sensor connected to a work station computer for detecting the actual tension in a yarn traveling from a delivery bobbin to a take-up bobbin, a yarn tensioner for regulating the yarn tension, a splicing device for automatic connection of yarn ends following a yarn break and/or a yarn cleaning cut, and a delivery bobbin changing device. After a splicing of the broken or cut yarn ends, the actual yarn tension is detected by the yarn tension sensor, and the detected value is compared in the work station computer with a threshold value which, if exceeded, results in actuation of the delivery bobbin changing device to provide a fresh delivery bobbin.

  • Patent number: 6232732
Abstract: In a method for braking an electric drive motor, especially a drive motor for driving a grooved drum of a winding head of a bobbin winding machine which motor is loaded for braking in a direction opposite to a rated nominal current with a braking current, the instantaneous thermal load of the drive motor is detected and the strength of the brake current is selected as a function of this thermal load of the drive motor.
