  • Patent number: 5678971
Abstract: A pressure-tight sluice includes a housing having an inside wall shaped substantially as a torus with a superelliptical cross section. The housing has an inlet and an outlet. A rotor includes an axle rotatable within the housing and a plurality of lamellae extending outwardly therefrom. Each lamella has a superelliptical shape complementary with the inside wall on an outer edge of each lamella is mounted a gasket to seal against the inside wall. Each gasket includes an air hose one end of which communicates via a hole connection in the axle with a compressed air distributor.

  • Patent number: 5507573
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling the volume or quantity of components being fed into a continuous, static mixing head are based upon the phenomenon of concentric, thin layers meeting with high velocities in a circular and free-flowing mixing zone (14). The regulating method can be adapted to various embodiments of mixing heads, and can be used for raw material combinations comprising powders, liquids, gas vapor or air, as well as mixing a small quantity into a large quantity. The thin layers are formed and controlled in conical, annular nozzles between fixed cone surfaces (12, 25, 27) and axially movable cone surfaces (11, 28, 29), where the movements are transferred from displacement members (15, 34) on the outside of the mixing head which regulate nozzle orifices and amounts or volumes. One situation regulates a mixing head where a downward directed powder layer in the mixing zone meets with obliquely downward directed liquid layers from the inside and the outside.

  • Patent number: 4357882
Abstract: A building structure for recurrent detonation of explosive charges of up to several hundreds of kilos with the aim to obtain effective sound dampening and economical use of materials. The building comprises a tube shaped steel structure (2) with two gable walls (4,4) inside the tube and which defines an explosion chamber (6) in the center portion thereof. One or preferably both of said two gable walls are apertured by a plurality of through-going openings. A webbed wall or the like (20) is situated at least in one end portion of the tube which together with respective adjacent gable wall (4) defines one, respectively two, gable chambers (16) which are filled with a mass of stones (18) or the like. The tube shaped steel structure is positioned horizontally and freely resting on a sand bed (36) or the like and is covered along its entire length with sand (38). The building is effective to obtain a sound dampened gas discharge and a pressure relief.

  • Patent number: 4191480
Abstract: A static mixer for continuously mixing powder or suspension materials with liquid materials, especially explosive components, includes a toroidal mixing chamber having a central pipe nozzle inlet for pressurized powder/suspension material and annular conical slit-nozzles for pressurized liquid material. A conical spreader body arranged coaxially downstream of the central pipe nozzle inlet forms the powder/suspension jet from the pipe nozzle into a thin conical high speed spray that hits the thin conical high speed liquid spray from the conical split nozzles in a common circular unsupported or "floating" mixing zone.
