  • Patent number: 9259120
Abstract: A beverage making device comprising a brewing chamber for enclosing a pad containing a substance from which the beverage is brewed. A water supply conduit is present between pumping means and the brewing chamber. The brewing chamber has an outlet having an orifice through which the brewed beverage can leave the brewing chamber. A portion of the wall of the brewing chamber is stationary and the other portion of the wall can move away from the stationary part in order to open the brewing chamber. Means (1) are present for releasing pressure from the brewing chamber after the water supply to the brewing chamber has been terminated.

  • Publication number: 20080069930
Abstract: A beverage maker has a removable beverage preparation assembly (4) that includes beverage collection unit, which in this example is a foam unit (30). The foam unit (30) is positioned below a nozzle for discharging prepared beverage and comprises a receptacle divided into several foam compartments (31). The foam unit (30) can be rotated about an axis A so that each of the foam compartments can be positioned under the nozzle (25). In use, beverage is dispensed by the nozzle (25) as a jet of liquid that impacts a surface of one of the foam compartments to produce foam. The beverage is then dispensed from the foam compartment the through an opening (32) and along an outlet (33) into a cup for drinking. Subsequent beverages can be prepared using different foam compartments (31).
