Abstract: A packaging machine for producing closed packages includes a chamber that can be sealed in an airtight manner around one or a plurality of packages, a gas flushing unit for flushing with a gas the at least one package contained in the chamber, at least one gas line leading into the chamber or out of the chamber as well as a measuring device for determining a concentration of the gas. The measuring device comprises a measuring head for reading, through the use of electromagnetic radiation, an indicator for the concentration of the gas. The indicator is arranged in an interior of the chamber, in an interior of a package and/or in an interior the at least one gas line.

Abstract: A packaging machine and a method for the production of packages by the packing of material in packages, with a machine having at least one processing station, such as a sealing station, a cutting station or similar station and a weighing station (8) for determination of the weight of the filled and sealed packages (7), is provided which has less space requirements than conventional packaging machines and improved manipulation. According to the invention, the above is achieved, whereby the weighing station (8) and/or the at least one processing station has a controller, in which the working speed of the weighing station (8) is synchronized with the working speed of the previous processing station.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for closing already preformed and separated containers (19), for example trays, with a lid foil (24) in a closing station (3). The invention is characterized in that a deep-drawable foil is used as lid foil (24), that the lid foil (24) is deep-drawn in a forming means (23) of the packaging machine (1), and that the deep-drawing of the lid foil (24) is accomplished before the containers (19) are closed with the lid foil (24). The invention also relates to a packaging machine (1) suited for carrying out such a method.

The method may comprise the following: forming a container (13) in a web of a first web-like material (7) by deep-drawing; forming a lid (14?) in a web of a further web-like material (9?) by deep-drawing; placing the lid (14?) onto the container (13); and subsequently separating the container (13) from the first web-like material (7, 9?), wherein an edge (20, 21, 22) of the container (13) and an edge (20?, 21?, 22?) of the lid (14?) are formed in an angled or bent form.
