  • Publication number: 20020131326
Abstract: A pressure relief system is provided for mixing tanks that are under overpressure at least temporarily, especially cylindrical container mixers for powdered, grit-like and/or granular materials. The mixing tank is pivotable around a preferably horizontal pivoting axis into a mixing position in which the materials are brought together with a mixing tool and wherein at least the discharge area and/or the closing flap (8) of the mixing tank are located outside the bulk of material. A hole of opening (20), which is sealed with a disk and/or shaft (12) via the intermediary of a membrane (15) with an elastic sealing lip (16), is provided in the discharge area and/or within the closing flap (8) for pressure relief during the mixing operation.

  • Patent number: 6241380
Abstract: A mixer for granular materials has a mixing container consisting of a first mixing container portion and a second mixing container portion detachably connected to one another. The mixing container has a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis extending perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis. A support frame is provided in which the mixing container is supported so as to be pivotable about the transverse axis and rotatable about the longitudinal axis. The mixing container has a first position in which mixing is performed and in which the second mixing container portion is positioned above the first mixing container portion. The mixing container has a second position in which the second container portion, after completion of mixing, contains the mixed material and is detachable from the first mixing container portion.

  • Patent number: 5630553
Abstract: In a method for recycling heterogeneous mixtures of materials resulting from size-reduction processes the heterogeneous mixture of materials is comminuted to form a comminuted intermediate product from which in a subsequent step comminuted particles of a preset size are separated. The selected comminuted particles are subjected to an agglomeration treatment for producing agglomerate particle product of a preset degree of agglomeration having an upper limit with respect to agglomerate particle size.

  • Patent number: 5393141
Abstract: A cooling mixer for bulk material, especially plastic material, in powder and granular form has a cylindrical container with a bottom portion, the container having a container double wall with an intermediate space and at least one outlet opening at the bottom portion. A cover for closing the container is provided and has at least one feed opening. The cover has a cover double wall with an intermediate space. A rotating mixing device comprised of a hub and mixing paddles fixedly connected to the hub is concentrically connected to the container such that a vertical rotating axis of the mixing device coincides with the axis of the container. The coolant circuit containing a coolant that is circulated during operation of the cooling mixer within the intermediate spaces comprises connectors for connecting the coolant circuit to the container double wall and the cover double wall. The container has a diameter to height ratio of 4:1 to 8:1.

  • Patent number: 4518262
Abstract: A high speed mixer for continuously mixing granular to powdery materials. The mixer includes a stationary, essentially cylindrical container with blade-like mixing tools arranged coaxially therein and rotating at high speed. A supply opening is arranged in the container cover, and a discharge opening having a controllable discharge is arranged in the container wall in the transition region to the container bottom. A supply housing having a funnel-shaped lower portion is connected to the supply opening in the container cover, and extends parallel to the container axis. Laterally of the upper housing portion are arranged two worm conveyors. These worm conveyors are operable individually or in common. The discharge opening, which is provided with the controllable discharge, is on its outside likewise provided with an independent heatable or coolable worm conveyor. All of the conveying worms are drivable at variable speeds.

  • Patent number: 4176966
Abstract: A mixing apparatus for continuously preparing pulverous to granular thermoplastic synthetic material. The mixing apparatus includes a tubular, rotatably mounted horizontal container, on the inner surface of which mixing instruments or tools are attached. An inlet and outlet for the material to be mixed are respectively located near the ends of the container. A shaft is rotatably arranged about the axis of the container and extends at least over the entire length of the container. Mixing instruments are likewise attached to the shaft. The mixing instruments, in the region between the inlet and outlet, comprise a plurality of sections of single or multi-threaded worms which extend in the radial direction from the shaft to the inner surface of the container. These sections are adjacent to and spaced from one another, and are alternately mounted to the shaft and to the inner surface of the container.
