  • Patent number: 4199713
Abstract: An installation for feeding the electrical power supply system of motor vehicles which contains a generator, a battery as accumulator, and several loads; a thermionic converter operable by means of the fuel of the motor vehicle is thereby provided as generator.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4184386
Abstract: A multi-speed transmission, especially an automatic transmission for vehicles with at least three speeds, utilizing fluid circulations and force-lockingly operable engageable units for the shifting of the transmissions, especially with the use of epicyclic gears, in which the fluid circulations and the engageable units are so coordinated to the epicyclic gears providing the different transmission ratios that the engagement of the speeds under tractional force takes place exclusively by filling and/or emptying of fluid circulations as well as by release of the force-locking engageable units whereas an engagement of the force-locking units takes place only when the latter are not under tractional force whereby at least a part of the fluid circulations serves for the engagement of several speeds and the number thereof is smaller than the number of speeds engaged thereby.

  • Patent number: 4089238
Abstract: A planetary gear change-speed transmission, especially for motor vehicles in which a first group consisting of planetary gear sets provides three forward speeds and a reverse speed with one of the elements of the first group constituting a common input member for all forward speeds and another element forming the input member for the reverse speed, whereby both input members are adapted to be connected with the driving engine by way of a clutch, and in which a second group consisting of sun gear, ring gear and planet gear arranged on a carrier is operatively connected with the first group in such a manner that the output of the second group is rigidly connected with the output of the first group, the second element of the second group is adapted to be braked while a third element is adapted to be connected with a further member of the first group so as to produce four forward speeds and a reverse speed which can be engaged without group-change.

  • Patent number: 4056176
Abstract: A drive arrangement for motor vehicles, especially for passenger motor vehicles, having an automatically shifting transmission and a mechanism for raising the idling rotational speed of the driving engine during a warm-up phase. The automatically shifting transmission includes a servo-device which, in a first position of a command slide valve, is adapted to be shifted into a position for a first speed range and, in a second position of the command slide valve, is adapted to be shifted into a position for a second speed range. A kickdown solenoid valve acting on the command slide valve is provided which, during actuation of a kick-down switch, passes over into a down-shifting position.

  • Patent number: 4050556
Abstract: A transmission with a retarder as additional, preferably as third brake, especially an automatic transmission for motor vehicles in which the retarder is arranged on the output side of the transmission and the various transmission ratios of the transmission are engaged by way of free-wheeling devices which continuously remain in their operable position during the actuation of the retarder.

  • Patent number: 4011840
Abstract: A drive for a motor vehicle with an internal combustion engine which is fed from a fuel tank with a fossil fuel by way of a fuel line; the fuel tank is thereby also connected with a cracking carburetor from which a line leads to a hydride storage device which, in turn, is connected with the internal combustion engine; the internal combustion engine can be operated with pure hydrogen or with a hydrogen-fuel-gas mixture in high density traffic areas as well as with a large excess of air whereas it can be operated on open highways, after shifting, with a conventional fossil fuel and with an air ratio number of about 1.

  • Patent number: 3992885
Abstract: A drive arrangement for the auxiliary aggregates of a motor vehicle equipped with an internal combustion engine which includes an electrical power supply system with a generator and a battery; only those auxiliary aggregates which have a power requirement dependent on the rotational speeds are thereby driven from the internal combustion engine as heretofore whereas all auxiliary aggregates which have a power requirement independent of the rotational speed are driven in common from an electrical motor operating at substantially constant rotational speed and fed from the electrical power supply system; a thermionic converter operable by means of the fuel of the motor vehicle is thereby provided as generator.

  • Patent number: 3942393
Abstract: A control system for regulating or controlling the actuating force of shifting elements which in automatically shifted change-speed transmissions act on friction elements that selectively brake, hold fast and release a structural element of such a change-speed transmission as a function of operating parameters; one of the operating parameters which is thereby used in the system of this invention is the predetermined change of the engine rotational speed as a function of time (dn/dt).
