  • Patent number: 4869211
Abstract: The invention relates to the construction of a lubricating oil channel (12), by way of which lubricating oil is conducted to spray nozzles (2) for the cooling of the pistons of an internal combustion engine. The spray nozzles (2) are connected with spray nozzle holders (3) that are secured at cross walls (4) in the crankcase (5). Passages (7) formed-in into the spray nozzle holders (3) which adjoin through-bores (9) in the cross walls (4). Plug-in pipes (10) are arranged between the passages (7) of two mutually oppositely disposed spray nozzle holders (3) secured at different cross walls (4) which complete the lubricating oil channel. A simple and cost-favorably representable lubricating oil channel is indicated therewith. A particular advantage is that the components of the lubricating oil channel are finish-machined prior to the installation and thus contaminations by machining residues are controllable prior to the installation.

  • Patent number: 4206607
Abstract: A gas dynamic wave machine or gas dynamic pressure exchanger for a supercharged internal combustion engine with the wave machine including a rotor or cell wheel driven by an independent drive arrangement. A charging air line is interposed between the gas dynamic wave machine and the respective cylinders of the internal combustion engine with the charging air line being selectively opened and closed in dependence upon an operative state of the internal combustion engine. A device is provided for delaying an opening of the charging air line for a predetermined time interval following a starting operation of the internal combustion engine. The independent drive arrangement for the wave machine is constructed as a hydrostatic drive device.

  • Patent number: 3967601
Abstract: A valve control for internal combustion engines with four valves per cylinder arranged in the cylinder head which are actuated from a cam shaft by way of push rods and rocker arms supported in bearing brackets; the two valves disposed closer to the actuating side are thereby actuated by way of a common rocker arm or individual rocker arms while the rocker arms for the other two valves extend arcuately shaped about a respective one of the bearing brackets and one of the first two valves; each of these rocker arms is provided with a pivot pin and the centers of the pivot points of the push rods and valve shafts of these rocker arms are arranged in a common plane disposed perpendicular to the axis of the respective pivot pin.
