  • Patent number: 7973482
Abstract: A high-pressure discharge lamp with an axial symmetry axis and metal halogenide filling has electrodes with shafts designed as pins with a diameter of 0.5 to 1.15 mm. The halogen for the halogenide is composed of iodine and possibly bromine components, iodine being used alone or in combination with bromine, and the bromine/iodine atomic ratio amounting to maximum 2.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 14, 2005
Date of Patent: July 5, 2011
Assignee: OSRAM Gesellschaft mit beschraenkler Haftung
Inventors: Michael Brinkhoff, Hans-Jürgen Keck, Rainer Kling
  • Patent number: 7748867
Abstract: A deflection component for a luminaire is hollow and consists of two sections, of which a first section is parallel to the axis and a second section in contrast runs obliquely outwards.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 9, 2006
Date of Patent: July 6, 2010
Assignee: OSRAM Gesellschaft mit beschraenkter Haftung
Inventors: Michael Brinkhoff, Hans-Jürgen Keck, Rainer Kling
  • Patent number: 6686681
Abstract: A discharge lamp (1) with a base (2), suitable for operation by means of a dielectrically impeded discharge, has a spacing between the base (2) and the outer wall of the discharge vessel (3). The overall efficiency of the generation of UV radiation is improved thereby.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 6, 2000

Assignee: Patent-Treuhand-Gesellschaft fuer Elektrische Gluelampen mbH
Inventors: Claus Allgeier, Ulrich Genger, Hans-Juergen Keck, Reinhold Wittkoetter
  • Patent number: 5962960
Abstract: Inserted into the cap of a high-pressure discharge lamp is a ceramic fleece hich prevents capping cement (17) from passing into the capillary (18) between the supply lead (9a) and pinch (5).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 8, 1998
Date of Patent: October 5, 1999
Assignee: Patent-Truehand-Gesellschaft fur Elektrische Gluelampen mbH
Inventors: Claus Regitz, Manfred Wysietzki, Hans-Juergen Keck
  • Patent number: 5627428
Abstract: To reliably and simply connect one end of a double-ended discharge vessel it (1) and a surrounding envelope (11) to a base (8), the base has a base sleeve (8a) which encloses a base holder portion (8b). The envelope (11) is melt-connected to the discharge vessel unit (1), for example just beyond pinch seals formed thereon, and is additionally formed with an extension (11a) which is, in turn, melt-connected to the holder portion (8b) of the base. Preferably, a metallic cuff is placed within the holder portion so that, by high-frequency inductive heating, a reception region (8d) of the holder portion can melt and tightly grip the extension (11a) of the envelope. To improve adhesion, the surface of the extension region (11a) may be ribbed, knurled or otherwise, slightly deformed.
