    Abstract: A canned electric motor in which the stator is a laminated plate assembly which surrounds the can and the windings project beyond the laminated plate assembly on both sides. The bottom of the can at the end opposite that from which the motor shaft projects is curved outward and the windings bear on the outside of the can against the curved surface of the bottom.
