  • Publication number: 20020095281
Abstract: An electronic data transmission device includes an electronic text recording device which records a text which is written or spoken in a first language and transforms the text into electronic data. An electronic data translation device is coupled with a text recording device and includes a data processing system and a translation program having a data bank with saved grammatical and vocabulary information. The data processing system translates the electronic data by way of the data processing system, and according to the grammatical and vocabulary information, into second electronic data which represents the recorded text in the second language. An electronic text reproduction device is coupled with the data translation device and reproduces the second electronic data as written and/or spoken text.

  • Patent number: 4863383
Abstract: The implant for dental purposes comprises a socket (4) and is provided with self-tapping screw threads, which are screwed into a pilot bore formed in the jaw bone. The socket receives a post (10), which has a stem (13) and is adapted to carry dental suprastructures. The stem (13) of the post is provided at its inner end with male screw threads (16), which have been screwed into female screw threads formed in the socket. In accordance with the invention the crest diameter of the self-tapping screw threads is equal throughout the axial length of said screw threads to the diameter of the socket (4) at its outer end. The self-tapping screw threads are formed on an axially inwardly tapering shank and continuously decrease in depth to zero from the inner end of said self-tapping screw threads to the outer end of the socket (4) or to a point which is spaced 2 to 3 mm from the outer end of said socket.

  • Patent number: 4538304
Abstract: An improved bone implant for securing artificial teeth to a jaw bone. The implant includes a body plate having an outer end and an inner end and two broadsides, each of which is formed with transversely spaced apart elongated depressions which are transverse to the direction from the outer end to the inner end. Each of the depressions is free from undercut surfaces, and has a longitudinal center plane and is symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal center plane. The depressions may consist of grooves having a semicircular cross-section. The body plate is enlarged in thickness in the shape of a bead at its inner end, in order to promote the application of pressure by the inner end of the body plate to the surrounding body tissue.

  • Patent number: 4511334
Abstract: A dental rotary cutting instrument is provided, which is adapted to be driven by a dental handpiece and to cut slots for receiving implants into a jaw. The instrument includes a sawblade, which has a periphery and is provided at the periphery with sawteeth and is formed with a plurality of angularly spaced apart, radial passages, which open at said periphery. Driving and coolant supply means are adapted to be connected to a dental handpiece and to transmit torque from the handpiece to the sawblade to rotate the latter and are adapted to supply a coolant from the handpiece to each of the radial passages at a point which is radially inwardly spaced from the periphery.

  • Patent number: 4406623
Abstract: A screw-type bone implant is disclosed having a shaft which, because of the design of its thread and because of its length and the design of its free end, is supported after implantation between its two ends by compact bone substance, and which is, immediately after the implantation, surrounded between its two ends by spongelike bone substance, so that the implant offers a permanent and particularly secure support for a dental prosthesis.
