  • Publication number: 20020107125
Abstract: To align two webs, which are joined together to form a multilayered web and of which one web exhibits a certain elasticity, this web is held under a stress, which elongates elasticly said web. The tension is increased or decreased in conformity with the deviation of the scanned marks of the web from the desired values so that by suitable elongation or shortening the web is aligned with respect to the other.

  • Patent number: 6401439
Abstract: The invention relates to device for manufacturing, filling and sealing thermoplastic sacks that are open on one side. Said device comprises a first welding and severing station for forming the sack with a bottom weld, a filling station and a second welding station for sealing the sack and comprises a first pair of gripping pliers as the pair of transport gripping pliers for accepting the sack at the first welding station; a second pair of gripping pliers that are arranged stationarily at the filling station; and a third pair of gripping pliers as the pair of transport gripping pliers that transport the sack from the filling station to the second welding station. The invention provides a fourth pair of gripping pliers as the pair of transport gripping pliers that accepts the sack from the first pair of transport gripping pliers through the in-line arrangement of a stationary pair of gripping pliers and delivers to the pair of gripping pliers, which are arranged stationarily at the filling station.

  • Patent number: 6145562
Abstract: Mounted in a frame is a welding cylinder, which is provided with a rotary drive and welding bars, which are distributed at uniform angular distances over the circumference, run parallel to the axis of rotation, can be adjusted continuously in their radial direction by means of their supports, and can be moved in and out in the radial direction relative to their supports for the purpose of activation and deactivation. For the purpose of identifying the respective welding bar, which has executed a specific weld on a film tube passing through, an embossing die, which provides the welded web with a distinct marking, characterizing the welding bar, which has executed the respective weld, is mounted in the circumferential direction in front of or behind each welding bar.

  • Patent number: 5468333
Abstract: An apparatus for sealing superposed film webs or flat lying tubular webs of a thermoplastic synthetic material, including sealing bars heatable by heating appliances, which are displaceable towards each other and away from each other and over whose front surfaces there can be spread a separating sheet of a material not sticking to the synthetic material.

  • Patent number: 5312317
Abstract: An apparatus for providing transverse weld seams and transverse detaching cuts or for providing detaching weld seams on a tubular or semi-tubular web of thermoplastic synthetic resin, and for stacking the detached sections includes a transverse welding and transverse detaching station for detaching sections having bottom weld seams and any leading head weld seams from the web and a stacking station for retaining or fixing the supplied sections. The web is moved intermittently. To cool the trailing weld seams of the sections without causing the sections to stick together adjacent to the bottom weld seams during stacking, a drum is provided which rotates about a transverse axis between the transverse welding and transverse detaching station and the stacking station. The wall of the drum includes at least two wall parts. The drum is adapted to be driven in step with the welding process by rotating the drum through an angular increment related to the number of wall parts of the drum in each revolution.

  • Patent number: 5288284
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for making bags preferably provided with side folds or other flat workpieces, which have a slip extending beyond their boundary. In accordance with the invention partly prefabricated bags are laterally supplied to a conveyor belt driven in a timed manner, and are seized there by grippers and fixed. By means of a glue applicator a glue strip is applied to the bag in its bottom region during the timed feeding movement of the conveyor belt. Finally, in a slip application station a slip is supplied each laterally to the conveyor belt and is placed onto the glue surface. The invention furthermore relates to an apparatus for carrying out the aforementioned method.

  • Patent number: 5126003
Abstract: An apparatus for welding webs of synthetic thermoplastic material as they move around a deflecting roller comprises an elongate housing, which is movable toward the deflecting roller to assume a position in which said housing is approximately concentric to said roller and closely surrounds said roller around a part of its periphery, and said housing is provided with at least one longitudinally extending hot-air duct, which is curved in the same sense as the housing and is provided with an inlet for receiving flowing hot air and is formed with a plurality of outlet bores or gaps in that wall of the housing which faces the deflecting roller.

  • Patent number: 4954206
Abstract: A welding apparatus for welding flat webs or web sections made of synthetic thermoplastics comprises two parallel welding bars, which are adapted to be raised and lowered relative to each other, and tensioned strips of polytetrafluoroethylene, preferably strips of polytetrafluoroethylene which are reinforced by glass fiber woven fabrics, which strips cover said welding bars and are fixed on rolls, which are disposed beyond opposite ends of each welding bar and serve to wind up and unwind said tensioned strips. The rolls are movably mounted beyond opposite ends of the welding bars on axles extending transversely to said welding bars.

  • Patent number: 4811879
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed which serves to move a carriage in one direction over a predetermined distance at a substantially uniform velocity and to return the carriage at a varying velocity so that a film web delivered at a constant velocity is intermittently advanced relative to a welding device fixed to a frame. The apparatus comprises a lever, which is adapted to be pivotally oscillated by a drive and which by virtue of a first guide provided on the lever and a slider or roller cooperating with the guide imparts a motion to the carriage. The carriage is movable on track rods in a plane which is parallel to the plane in which the lever is pivotally movable. In order to provide an apparatus which is compact and space-saving, the lever is driven by a crank, which revolves in a plane parallel to the plane in which the lever is pivotally movable.

  • Patent number: 4790491
Abstract: Apparatus for winding a web section without using a core, the web section including a plurality of transversely extending perforation lines and wherein a torn web section is removed from a continuously supplied web. The apparatus includes two winding stations that are diametrically opposed on opposite sides of rotatable, circular carrying discs. Each of the winding stations includes a pair of opposed winding heads, and the winding heads each includes a pair of winding pins that extend in the direction of the winding aixs. The pins are rotatably mounted for rotation as a pair about the winding axis and are connected to a rotary drive. The winding pins are also extendable to a winding position and are retractable to a non-winding position. When in the winding position the pins extend outwardly from the winding head and are spaced from each other a distance sufficient to receive a web therebetween, and upon rotation of the winding heads the web is wound into a roll without the need for a core.
