  • Patent number: 10144200
Abstract: A fiber-reinforced composite material includes a bulk portion with a bulk matrix having reinforcing fibers embedded therein, and a surface portion with a plurality of laminated first layers serving as “expanding layers”, which expand and/or delaminate during fire impact. The surface portion also includes a plurality of laminated second layers different from the first layers and serving as “barrier layers”. The expanding layers and barrier layers can be arranged in an alternating sequence.

  • Patent number: 9719898
Abstract: A device and method for testing a fiber-composite component, which is to be processed by means of bonding, for the presence of at least one substance out of a selection of possible contaminants. A surface heating device for regional heating of a part-zone of the fiber-composite component to be bonded is performed for desorption of contaminants. A sensor array with a plurality of sensors detects contaminants in the gas phase, and a control device ascertains and signals contaminations which are found. An extractor device can be employed to extract machining dust from the fiber-composite component to a desorption device.

  • Publication number: 20100040886
Abstract: This invention relates quite in general to production of fiber composite components by infiltration of a fiber material with a synthetic resin and subsequent curing. In order to improve the required preparation of a liquid or viscous resin system, as claimed in the invention especially a synthetic resin granulate (10, 12) and a process for its production are provided, encompassing the step of stabilization of the synthetic resin granulate (10?) by adding nanoparticles (12?) which attach on the surface of the granulate particles (10). The granulate (10, 12) which is thus free of blocks can be easily handled, for example bagged, flow-conveyed and metered. Advantageously the nanoparticles do not have an adverse effect on the infiltration properties of the resin and on the component properties.
