The weld nut assembly further includes an annular washer or bottom structure coupled to the annular flange structure. Optionally, the weld nut assembly further includes an annular ring projection and a plurality of circumferential weld protrusions coupled to the annular flange structure. The annular flange structure is adapted to be welded to a surface of a body panel or other structure of a vehicle with the inner bore aligned with a hole formed through the body panel or other structure, the hole adapted to receive the screw therethrough.

The handheld quality inspection tool includes an elongated hollow tube, a spring support, a spring member, a plunger, and a handle. The elongated hollow tube defines a slot. The spring support is connected to an end portion of the elongated tube. The spring member is disposed within the elongated hollow tube and connected to the spring support. The plunger is disposed in the elongated hollow tube and connected to the spring member opposite the spring support. The handle is connected to the plunger and protrudes from the elongated hollow tube through the slot and is translatable along the slot to move the plunger and compress the spring member. Upon release of the handle, the compressed spring member propels the plunger to apply an impact force to a projection welded component.

    Abstract: The hybrid circuit can be used to substantially reduce near echo signals. The circuit includes a balanced 2-wire to 4-wire hybrid for interconnecting a two wire receive path and a two wire transmit path to a two wire transmission line. The two wire receive path connects the balanced hybrid to an A/D converter and the two wire transmit path connects a D/A converter to the balanced hybrid. The two wire receive path contains a filter, dimensioned to remove signals transmitted from the D/A converter. The invention is particularly adapted for use with FDD and OFDD.

    Abstract: With OFDM systems the frequency domain data is the Fourier transform of the received time domain OFDM frames. The time domain frames must be sampled, at the receiver, in synchronism with the transmitter, so that each received frame contains data from only a single transmitted frame. It is vital for this synchronism to be maintained in order to maintain the orthogonality of the frames. A typical multi-carrier system, of the OFDM type, which uses a cyclic prefix permits orthogonality to be maintained when there is a small deviation from exact frame synchronisation. Because the signalling interval includes both an entire frame and the cyclic prefix, which is a repetition of part of the frame, a frame sampled within the signalling interval will contain data from only one frame. Since the signalling interval is greater than the frame period, this gives some leeway in frame alignment. In a multi-carrier system of the OFDM type, an adaptive channel equalizer, operating in the frequency domain, is often used.

    Abstract: An arrangement for synchronization of nodes in VDSL-systems, or more exactly, synchronization of optical VDSL-nodes which share a common part of a cable in the access network between subscribers and a local station. A time synchronization is provided towards an external system, for instance GPS, which gives a time reference by which the different nodes can be synchronized. The synchronization reduces the near end cross-talk between the VDSL-systems in the different nodes. Preferably, each respective node includes a receiver for a synchronization signal and an internal oscillator with high stability to deliver a stable clock signal.

    Abstract: A mechanism for achieving frame synchronization in the frequency domain. In order to synchronize a receiver with a transmitter, on signal acquisition, the interval in which orthogonality exists is determined. Once this has been achieved, an argument function is calculated from the received frame. This argument function can then be used to improve the synchronization. This system is particularly suitable for use in ADSL and VDSL modems which can be used to give broad band access over copper networks. It is also relevant to broad band transmission in mobile and semi-mobile systems for transmission over radio channels.

    Abstract: An instrument for vaginal inspection or exploration consists of separate speculum and depressor components, each molded from plastic material. The handles of the components are adapted to be releasably interfitted in a dovetail manner to form a unitary handle, with the handles being longitudinally slidable relative to each other to adjust the separation between the speculum and depressor blades. The dovetail arrangement includes toothed locking flanges on the depressor handle which releasably cooperate with teeth on the sides of the speculum handle. By depressing a transverse web portion or button, the flanges are flexed apart to allow longitudinal adjustment between the handles, using one hand only. The depressor handle includes an intermediate member connected to the depressor blade. This intermediate member is of an arcuate, laterally offset configuration so as to provide unobstructed access to the space between the blades in the longitudinal direction of the blades.

    Abstract: In the continuous manufacture of cellulose pulp it has been found that air often remains in the lignocellulosic material subsequent to steaming the same. These air inclusions cause the lignocellulosic material to float in the cooking liquid, which results in interruptions in the digestion process. This problem is solved by means of the present invention, which relates to a method in which prior to being steamed, the lignocellulosic material is brought into contact with a heating medium. The method is characterized by supplying the heating medium to the advancing lignocellulosic material at several occasions; by distributing the heating medium in a manner such as to increase the temperature of the material in the direction in which it is advanced; and by separating condensed liquid from the lignocellulosic material.The invention also relates to apparatus for carrying out the above method.
