  • Publication number: 20080189884
Abstract: A foldable modular scissors bridge adapted to be transported by a transport vehicle in a folded-together state and comprising two bridge modules, each formed by one or two pairs of spaced-apart track supports. Run-up ramps disposed at opposite ends of each bridge support are rigidly connected to their bridge supports. A respective ramp end tube, in the form of a hinge part, is disposed at each tip of the run-up ramps. A respective coupling tongue is disposed on each run-up ramp at a distance from the tip thereof. • Patent number: 5920936
Abstract: A trough bridge is composed of a plurality of interconnected bridge sections each formed of a roadway deck segment and side wall segments located at opposite sides of the roadway deck segment. An articulation for pivotally attaching the side wall segments to each roadway deck segment includes spaced and aligned first hinge sleeves affixed to the roadway deck segment; a separate first hinge recess defined next to each first hinge sleeve; spaced and aligned second hinge sleeves affixed to the side wall segments; and a separate second hinge recess defined next to each second hinge sleeve. In an assembled state the first hinge sleeves are received in respective second hinge recesses and the second hinge sleeves are received in respective first hinge recesses. The first and second hinge sleeves are in alignment with one another. • Patent number: 5857821
Abstract: Freight is transferred between a car of a train riding on rails extending in a travel direction and a stationary street vehicle while the train is moving slowly in the travel direction by displacing a grab into a position above the rails, identifying the piece of freight and moving the grab in the travel direction synchronously with the train above the piece of freight on the train, and then engaging the grab with the piece of freight while the grab moves synchronously with the train. The piece of freight is then lifted with the grab off the train and the grab are displaced in a transfer direction transverse to the travel direction while the grab moves synchronously with the train until the piece of freight is clear of the train. Movement of the grab in the travel direction is then arrested and the grab and the piece of freight are moved in the transverse transfer direction and the piece of freight is deposited on a stationary support. The piece of freight is then moved from the support to the street vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5570486
Abstract: A bridge is assembled by locking truss-like girders along the sides of a bridge section to the transverse beams by a bayonet-type coupling and a swinging of the trusses relative to the transverse beams. Roadway plates are supported by the transverse beams and additional sections are assembled onto the previous sections. The sections can be advanced across an obstruction on a pair of support beams guided through roller frames affixed to at least the first and last sections, which support beams can later be mounted on the bridge span to function as guardrails.

  • Patent number: 5504956
Abstract: A guide groove provided in an inner lower cord of a bridge section of a portable bridge includes an extruded profile section which is comprised of a vertical strip having an upper end and a lower end, and being composed of, over its entire height in at least a partial cross section thereof, a homogeneous material; and an upper wall section extending from the upper end of the vertical strip and a lower wall section extending from the lower end of the vertical strip. The guide groove has an increased service life when the vertical strip has a thickness in cross section which is reduced at the center portion of the bridge section over at least a part of the length of the bridge section in respect to at least one of the end portions of the bridge section. The guide groove is repairable by a method in which an insertion element is replaced, the insertion element being provided over a part of the length of the bridge section in which the thickness in cross section of the vertical strip is not reduced.

  • Patent number: 5457836
Abstract: The invention relates to a bridge comprising at least one bridge elements. The bridge elements has a base body that has chamfered end surfaces on which roadway plates rest that can be necessarily brought out of a drive-on position into a coupling position by hinged ramp plates in that respectively two bridge elements are moved toward the ramp plates into a drive-on position. The apparatus for laying the bridge has a guide (support rail, holding sheet) for the guide members of the ramp plates so that the bridge elements can be reliably guided together. Moreover, the apparatus has guide rails with which the locking elements (hook, pins) can be centrally actuated.

  • Patent number: 5423101
Abstract: A dismountable bridge comprises at least one bridge section including a top deck and a bottom boom disposed underneath the top deck. The bottom boom includes a mechanism for adjusting the length of the bottom boom. Rigid end supports each have one end hinged to a respective one of the ends of the top deck and have another end hinged to a respective one of the ends of the bottom boom. Tension elements are disposed laterally of the bridge section and are stressed only tensionally. Each tension element has one end hinged to one end of the top deck and another end hinged to an end of the bottom boom opposite to the one end of the top deck. The bridge section can be changed from a transport position, in which the top deck and the bottom boom are collapsed for maintaining a low height for transporting, and into an operating position in which the top deck is remote from the bottom boom at least at one end of the bridge section.
