Abstract: In order to provide a battery system which helps to reduce the maintenance works to be necessarily executed to a minimum while simultaneously avoiding shunting operations, the invention proposes a battery system, in particular for the carriages of a train, comprising a receiver unit for optionally receiving a battery, a charging device and/or the like, wherein the receiver unit is a mobile unit and is placed in a replaceable manner on a carriage of a train or the like.
