  • Patent number: 6062371
Abstract: An apparatus for braking the travel on oncoming rolled products and depositing the rolled products on a cooling bed or other collector as a support frame extending in the direction of travel of the rolled workpieces and an array of profile braked members which can be U-shaped and open toward brake surfaces on the support frame. The U-shaped brake members are pressed against the workpiece to clamp it against the braking surface. The brake members can be swung pendulum fashion so that angled legs beneath the workpieces can be swung away to allow them to drop on the cooling bed or other collector.

  • Patent number: 5884518
Abstract: A runout and braking device, particularly for medium steel rolled sections, includes a run-in roller table and a braking device arranged laterally offset and parallel to the run-in roller table, wherein the run-in roller table and the braking device form a runout and braking system. The runout and braking device of the above-described type includes a braking device with a rigidly arranged braking trough with a bottom which is outwardly inclined relative to the horizontal direction. The run-in roller table includes a lifting bottom forming a plane, wherein conveying rollers mounted below the lifting bottom protrude above the plane of the lifting bottom. Pivoting devices are provided for pivoting the run-in roller table together with the lifting bottom and the conveying rollers arranged below the lifting bottom about a laterally offset pivoting point into an inclined position toward the braking trough.

  • Patent number: 5644941
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for severing and controlled cooling of individual rods from a rolled section, particularly from a section of preferably high-grade steel which emerges hot from rolling at final speed from the rolling line of a finishing train, wherein the section is divided during its passage through parting shears into cut lengths and wherein a cut length each is conveyed after severing to an annealing strip or an annealing furnace. The rolled section is supplied to parting shears whose knives rotate on both sides of the section in a horizontal plane and which, when severing the section, displace the resulting section ends in the horizontal plane laterally relative to each other by a certain distance.

  • Patent number: 5468146
Abstract: A billet live roller bed upstream of cooling beds, where conveyor rollers designed in a worm or screw shaped manner and arranged to be parallel to the roller bed rollers transfer the rolled materials transversely to the conveyance direction onto the cooling bed, can be adapted to changing rolling speeds with small resources in machining technology, if the transverse conveyor rollers have screw turns with different pitches.
