  • Patent number: 8430785
Abstract: A multi-stage transmission (1) comprising a housing (9), a drive shaft (AN), an output shaft (AB), four planetary gear sets (RS1, RS2, RS3, RS4) which each have first, second and third elements, at least eight rotatable shafts (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8), six shift elements which comprise three clutches (K1, K2, K3) and three brakes (B1, B2, B3). Selective engagement of the clutches and brakes results in different transmission ratios between the drive shaft (AN) and output shaft (AB) so that up to nine forward gears can be implemented. In the multi-stage transmission, the connections of the individual elements to each other are such that exactly three of the six shift elements transmit torque during each gear step.

  • Patent number: 7854674
Abstract: A drive system for individually driving two driven wheels of a vehicle. The system includes two continuously variable drive motors which are drivingly connected, via a transmission arrangement, with respective driven wheels. Each transmission arrangement includes a shift transmission and a bevel gear transmission, which has a fixed transmission ratio and includes a spur gearset and a bevel gearset. Shift transmissions vary the transmission ratio and the bevel gear transmission enables arranging drive shafts of the drive motors transversely to the rotational axis of the driven wheels. The spur gearsets enable vertical repositioning of the transmissions drive output shafts. Furthermore, with different arrangements of the bevel gears, inclination of respective drive motors and shift transmissions relative to the vehicles longitudinal axis and the angle of the output shafts can be adjusted, such that the drive system can be installed in different vehicle types using largely identical components.

  • Publication number: 20080210481
Abstract: An electric drive system for a vehicle features two similar drive units, an electric energy source, an electronic control unit and a left and a right summation gear, which are configured as planetary gears. A drive unit drives the ring gear of the left summation gear, while the other drive unit drives the ring gear of the right summation gear. The ring gear of the left summation gear has a direct drive connection with the sun gear of the right summation gear, while the ring gear of the right summation gear has a direct drive connection with the sun gear of the left summation gear by way of a second mechanical gearset. A left sun gear shaft is proposed running through a left hollow shaft toward the center of the vehicle and a right sun gear shaft running through a right hollow shaft toward the center of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20080202826
Abstract: The present invention concerns a drive system for the individual driving of the two driven wheels of a driven wheel pair or suchlike for a vehicle, which comprises two continuously variable drive motors (2, 6) each of which are in driving connection via a transmission arrangement with an associated driven wheel (4, 8) or suchlike. The transmission arrangement comprises in each case two transmission units, one of the two transmission units being a shift transmission (10, 40) while the other transmission unit is a bevel gear transmission (54, 64; 70, 72) with a fixed transmission ratio, the bevel gear transmission (54, 64; 70, 72) comprising a spur gearset and a bevel gearset. By virtue of the shift transmission (10, 40) the drive transmission ratio can be varied, whereas the bevel gear transmission (54, 64; 70, 72) enables the drive shafts (14) of the drive motors (2, 6) to be arranged transversely to the rotation axis of the driven wheels (4, 8).
