Publication number: 20120288051Abstract: A control rod for a pressurized-water nuclear reactor contains an absorber rod which is arranged in a casing tube. At least in a lower section, the absorber rod is provided with at least one recess which takes up at most a portion of the circumferential surface of this section. This reduces problems associated with an expansion in the volume of the absorber rod.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2008Publication date: November 15, 2012Applicant: AREVA NP GMBHInventors: Hans-Peter Fuchs, Florian Schebitz, Peter Dewes, Gunter Fischer, Alfons Roppelt, Winfried Beck

Patent number: 7822166Abstract: A fuel assembly for a boiling water reactor contains a plurality of fuel rods maintained laterally by spacers and surrounded by a fuel assembly case. The outer walls of a spacer are provided with projecting elements that maintain a minimum space between the outer surface of the spacer and the fuel assembly case, the opening span of a spacer being smaller than the internal width of the fuel assembly case. The fuel assembly is characterized in that the spacer is maintained in an off-center position by a force acting laterally thereon such that an external space located between an outer surface of the spacer associated with the outer surface of a central cell and the fuel assembly case is narrower than an internal gap opposite the external space and oriented towards the center or towards a control element disposed at the center.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2005Date of Patent: October 26, 2010Assignee: Areva NP GmbHInventors: Peter Bucheit, Hans-Peter Fuchs, Matthias Rudolf

Publication number: 20060285628Abstract: A fuel assembly for a pressurized-water nuclear reactor contains a plurality of grid-shaped, square spacers spaced apart from one another. Each of the grid-shaped, square spacers has four edge webs. At least one of the spacers has at least two differently configured edge webs for generating a force which acts from a flowing cooling water on the fuel assembly in a plane of the spacer transversely with respect to an axial direction. A multiplicity of fuel rods extend in the axial direction and are guided in the plurality of grid-shaped, square spacers.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 16, 2006Publication date: December 21, 2006Inventors: Jurgen Stabel, Hans-Peter Fuchs, Mingmin Ren

Patent number: 7009449Abstract: An amplifier arrangement includes a variable-gain signal amplifier. A control block is used to process a control signal in order to set the gain. A trimming unit acts on the control block such that signals which are produced by the control block can be trimmed relative to one another in order to set the gain of the signal amplifier.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2004Date of Patent: March 7, 2006Assignee: Infineon Technologies AGInventors: Gerhard Habring, Manfred Haberl, Andreas Scheiber, Hans-Peter Fuchs, Carl Stephelbauer

Patent number: 5367267Abstract: In a broadband amplifier having an upper limit frequency of several GHz that is composed of a plurality of transistors connected in parallel, the control terminals (gates) of the transistors are respectively connected to line sections of an input line via an input circuit composed of a plurality of capacitors and appertaining resistors connected in parallel. Outputs (drain terminals) of the transistors are respectively connected to line sections of an output line.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 1993Date of Patent: November 22, 1994Assignee: Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co., KGInventor: Hans-Peter Fuchs

Patent number: 3997394Abstract: For use in forming the core of a pressurized-water reactor, a fuel assembly supporting structure for holding a bundle of interspaced fuel rods, is formed by interspaced end pieces having holes in which the end portions of control rod guide tubes are inserted, fuel rod spacer grids being positioned by these guide tubes between the end pieces. The end pieces are fastened to the end portions of the guide tubes, to integrate the supporting structure, and in the case of at least one of the end pieces, this is done by means which releases that end piece from the guide tubes when the end pieces receive an abnormal thrust force directed towards each other and which would otherwise place the guide tubes under a compressive stress that would cause them to buckle. The spacer grids normally hold the fuel rods interspaced by distances determined by nuclear physics, and buckling of the control rod guide tubes can distort the fuel rod spacer grids with consequent dearrangement of the fuel rod interspacing.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 1975Date of Patent: December 14, 1976Assignee: Kraftwerk Union AktiengesellschaftInventors: Friedrich-Wilhelm Aisch, Hans Peter Fuchs, Diethelm Knodler, Alexander Steinke, Josef Steven
