  • Patent number: 5538384
Abstract: The invention concerns a pallet-support rail for the conveyance of pallets and containers, the rail having a pallet-support chain (2, 2a to 2d) designed in the form of a roller chain with a multiplicity of support rollers (11) spaced one behind the other at equal intervals, a rolling surface (4) on which the rollers (11) run and a multiplicity of support links (9) connected to the rollers (11) and designed to be displaced by the rollers (11) along the rolling surface (4). The invention ensures ease of operation and compact design by virtue of the fact that means for lateral control of the support rollers (11) are fitted to the support rollers (11).

  • Patent number: 4467725
Abstract: A continuous rack support apparatus utilizing the gravity feed principle and in which goods to be stored are supported on rolling vehicles comprises thrust rods which are formed as motional impulse generators and arranged so as to be longitudinally displaceable in the center of a track. Pawls are associated with the thrust rods for acting upon the rolling vehicles. Each thrust rod has a locking member for holding it in a locked position following a displacement against the action of a spring. The locking member can be disengaged by the foremost rolling vehicle when the latter is removed. Along the thrust rods are wedges with which the pawls come into contact upon displacement of the thrust rods against the action of the spring to cause the wedges to swivel into a rest position below the track.

  • Patent number: 4200421
Abstract: The present invention provides a continuous shelf storage unit comprising a shelf, an inclined rail track on which non-driven wheeled carriages can move, with auxiliary equipment for the loading and unloading of the shelf, the rail track having a slight incline for causing a deceleration of wheeled carriages coasting thereon, and momentum-imparting apparatus acting on the wheeled carriages and disposed in the track. The momentum imparting apparatus is activated by the auxiliary devices during removal of a carriage from the shelf.

  • Patent number: 4197047
Abstract: An unloading mechanism for a shelf storage system in which a load of goods is supported on a pallet which constitutes a unit load, the load and pallet resting on a mobile storage and transport unit which unit is subjected to the action of the unloading mechanism for removal from the storage pile. The unloading mechanism comprises a modified section of a trackway at the very end at a vertical stop where the unit load, with its four wheeled unit, is lifted by a lifting conveyer to elevate the front wheels of the four wheeled unit first over the stop and then over a cam which is hump shaped and facilitates the pulling of the wheeled unit to clear the front wheels. The lifting is done at the front by the lifting conveyer and done by the wheels engaging the hump shaped cams at the back. The load is then removed. A follow-up unit load of goods on a pallet and four wheeled transport unit moves down the inclined trackway to replace the unit load just removed.

  • Patent number: 4168078
Abstract: A mobile storage and transport rectangular roller unit with a roller and drawbar device for use in a shelf storage system. Each unit is provided with four wheels, one adjacent each corner in a four sided frame. The roller bar is provided with pair of rollers and cooperates with a coupling member of substantially cubic shape which is pivotally mounted on the drawbar. Two transverse cross members are at the front and back of the frame and lie opposite to each other, each formed by an inverted U-section having limbs of unequal length. The coupling member is provided with a top groove to receive the shorter limb of the inverted U-section and is thereby coupled at the shorter limb of the cross member to the four sided frame.
