  • Patent number: 8460514
Abstract: The present invention relates to an industrial fabric, in particular press fabric or transfer belt, for use in a papermaking machine. The industrial fabric includes a porous composite structure, having a batt fiber structure and particulate polymeric material. The batt fiber structure has an upper surface and a lower surface extending parallel to the upper surface and spaced from the upper surface along a thickness direction extending perpendicular to the upper and lower surface. The particulate polymeric material is partly fused together and bonded with fibers extending on at least one of the surfaces of the batt fiber structure and with fibers inside the batt fiber structure such that the polymeric material partly impregnates fibers of the batt structure and partly fills interstices between fibers of the batt structure to form the porous composite structure.

  • Publication number: 20100108282
Abstract: The present invention relates to a papermakers felt including a support structure with an upper and a lower side and functional batt layers, wherein at least one of the functional batt layers is needled to the upper side and at least one functional batt layer is needled to the lower side of the support structure. The present invention is characterized in that the support structure includes a base layer and two coarse batt layers, the coarse batt layers mainly including coarse fibers of approximately 67 dtex or more, the two coarse batt layers being disposed on opposite sides of the base layer to provide the upper side and the lower side of the support structure and coarse fibers of each of the two coarse batt layers being embedded in the base layer.

  • Publication number: 20080190510
Abstract: A press fabric for use in a papermaking machine, the press fabric including a base fabric and a layer of fine fibers combined with a polymer reinforcement. The layer being associated with the base fabric. The layer being no more than 125 grams/m2. The press fabric being pre-compacted to a density greater than 750 kg/m3.

  • Publication number: 20060180292
Abstract: The invention relates to a papermachine fabric, in particular a press felt, having a carrier layer on which, at least in some sections, fibers with exposed fiber ends are arranged, the fibers forming a contact surface with which a paper web can be brought into contact, and wherein the contact surface is substantially formed by the exposed fiber ends.

  • Publication number: 20060183391
Abstract: Papermachine fabric, in particular press felt for the press section of a paper machine. A papermachine fabric, for example a press felt for use in the press section of a papermachine, has a thread arrangement oriented in the machine running direction (direction of the x-axis). The thread arrangement has regions of different density, i.e. a different number of threads per cm, transversely with respect to the machine running direction (direction of the y-axis). The fabric is intended to have regions of different properties transversely with respect to the machine running direction.
