  • Patent number: 5022121
Abstract: A carding machine including a carding drum and a plurality of carding elements cooperating with the carding drum is provided with a cleaning belt carrying a card cloth and mounted for displacement transversely of the direction of rotation of the carding drum, and an exhaustor device cooperating with the cleaning belt. The card cloth conveys contaminations contained in the fibre material towards one side, resulting in transverse displacement of the fibre material and thus in an uneven thickness of the fibre web. The contaminations are moreover not completely removed, but rather accumulated on one side of the fibre web.

  • Patent number: 4967946
Abstract: Known pneumatic pipe conveyor installations for fibres, particularly for textile fibre strands, comprise a conveyor pipe and a selectively operable feeder apparatus for feeding the fibres to the inlet opening of the conveyor pipe. For permitting the feeder apparatus to be automatically stopped in response to the formation of a fibre congestion adjacent the inlet opening of the conveyor pipe, there is provided a pressure-receiving surface (6) at least partially surrounding the inlet opening (5) of the conveyor pipe (2) and operatively connected to a switch (7) adapted to generate a stop signal for stopping operation of the feeder apparatus (3) in response to the pressure acting on the pressure-receiving surface (6) exceeding a predetermined value. The pneumatic pipe conveyor installation is useful for conveying fibre strands or slubbings in the textile industry.

  • Patent number: 4884320
Abstract: An apparatus for gathering a textile fibre fleece from a doffer (3) of a card and forming therefrom a fibre sliver which is then fed to a conveyor (7) is disclosed. The apparatus includes a trough (8) which extends from a take-off location defined by a take-off roller (2). The trough (8) has width substantially corresponding to that of the take-off location and has a bottom (9) and sidewalls (10) which preferably converge in the shape of a funnel. The apparatus also includes a funnel disposed at one end (19) of the trough (8). The funnel is formed as a compressed-air-operable injector (11) for conveying and forming the sliver (5). End (19) of the trough (8) is connected to exhaustor means (23) which suck the fibre fleece (4) towards injector (11).

  • Patent number: 4809405
Abstract: In an apparatus for compressing and automatic introduction of a fibre strand into a feed nip: an opening is formed as a longitudinal slot (12, 12a, b12"a) extending from the outlet port (15) of the nozzle channel (7;7") in the longitudinal direction thereof and in a plane extending substantially perpendicular to the plane (E--E) of the feed nip (1; 1"). The contour of the insertion nozzle (6, 6") adjacent its outlet end on both sides of the longitudinal slot (12, 12a, b; 12"a) is of a shape (9, 10;9") conforming to the contours of the components (2, 3; 2", 8"a), particularly rollers (2, 3) defining the feed nip (1; 1").

  • Patent number: 4299011
Abstract: A card is equipped behind the doffer roll (7) with a pair of delivery rolls (8, 8a) for the web (9) provided each with a stationary grazing blade (12, 12a) for seed particles or similar impurities. Between the nip line K of the delivery rolls (8, 8a) and the grazing blades (12) of the delivery roll (8) a web deflecting roll (15) is supported rotatably and drivable in the same rotational direction as the delivery roll (8). The web deflecting device (15) is arranged of, but in the vicinity of, the normal free web exit path (9a) and brings a web (9b) possibly clinging to the delivery roll (8) and carried on thereon back to the normal web exit path (9a) and separates the web (9b) from impurities on the cylindrical surface. The impurities are only subsequently mechanically eliminated by the grazing blade (12), in such manner that the cleaning operation for the delivery roll (8) is effected in two subsequent separate cleaning steps.
