  • Patent number: 5601017
Abstract: A device for parallel guiding a reciprocating ram of a hydraulic press has a ram of a rectangular contour and a drive unit with hydraulic cylinders for reciprocating the ram. The ram has first and second opposite lateral walls.

  • Patent number: 5582384
Abstract: A holding device for elongate members has a base body with a C-shaped bracket with a first leg, a second leg, and a connecting bar. The C-shaped bracket has a securing screw extending through the first leg for clamping the holding device to a support. The base body has two parallel legs extending in a first plane of the first leg and pointing away from the C-shaped bracket. A plate is positioned in a second plane perpendicular to the first plane and is connected with adjacent edges to the connecting bar and the two parallel legs. The plate has a first and a second set of two grooves that extend parallel to one another on opposite sides of the plate. The first and second sets extend spaced from one another parallel to the connecting bar. The plate further has a third and fourth set of two grooves that extend parallel to one another on opposite sides of the plate. The third and fourth sets extend spaced from one another parallel to the two parallel legs.

  • Patent number: 5135030
Abstract: A control system for a hydraulic drive element such as a cylinder for a press includes a pilot valve having a plurality of fluid outlets controlled by a pilot valve spool unidirectionally biased by a resilient spring at one end thereof to a neutral position. A main valve having an elongated main valve spool resiliently biased to a center position. The opposite ends of the main valve spool are contiguous with individual pressure chambers separately connected to one of the plurality of outlets of the pilot valve. A link engaged with an end of the pilot valve spool which is opposite the end engaged by the resilient spring. A set value drive including stepping motor is coupled to the link for moving the pilot valve spool in either of opposite directions from the neutral position. The link is coupled for movement by the main valve spool to return the pilot valve spool to the neutral position.

  • Patent number: 4558809
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an apparatus for moving material such as metal sheets or strip in production machines. The apparatus includes two spaced-apart, double-acting jacks disposed in parallel relation to the direction of movement for the strip. Each jack comprises two piston rods extending out of opposite ends of the cylinders from a common piston. The piston rods are secured at their free ends to standing columns arranged at the four corners of a rectangular base. A cross member rigidly interconnects the cylinders of the jacks and is provided with two transport grippers having jaws, one of which is moved by a jack to grip the strip at opposite sides thereof. The grippers are disposed in a plane containing the strip and longitudinal axes of the piston rods so that applied forces to the strip coincide with the driving plane of the cylinders.

  • Patent number: 4311086
Abstract: A system for damping abrupt movement of a punch press ram at the moment of cut-breakthrough with the use of at least two damping pistons disposed within cylinders and arranged to engage the press ram before and during cut-breakthrough. The cylinders within which the damping pistons are carried are connected to a hydraulic control system which permits the pistons to yield with the ram until the instant of cut-breakthrough, whereupon the damping pistons act as rigid bodies and prevent abrupt breakthrough movement of the ram.
