  • Patent number: 4535441
Abstract: A communication system for stationary and mobile subscribers includes a number of subscriber stations interconnected in a ring circuit and adapted for two-way communication with other subscriber stations, via a ring circuit. A transceiver station is also connected into the ring circuit and is adapted for two-way communication with the ring, and for two-way wireless communication with mobile subscriber stations, and serves to interconnect the mobile stations for two-way communication with the stations connected with the ring. Each of the subscriber stations of the ring circuit are connected by conventional means with a telephone switching network, and a call directed to such a station is selectively switched to the ring for communication with a mobile station having the same address or identification as the called station.

  • Patent number: 4415981
Abstract: A multi-purpose terminal device is adapted for connection to a data processing system, an automatic text processing unit and/or a communication network. An input and control keyboard is provided for controlling connections and for adding information to the information provided by a plurality of devices. A hard copy input is provided and optically coupled to a hard copy output for producing local copies. A branching device connects the hard copy input to an interface with the external units. A memory is also provided for storing data read from masters, buffering data coming from the external units and for intermediate storage of data during processing operations.

  • Patent number: 4339658
Abstract: A method and device for monitoring and minimizing the splicing losses at a splicing location for glass fiber cables characterized by a measuring cylinder which has a hinge to enable opening the cylinder up to place it around a splicing connection and has a photosensitive layer for converting a light escaping at the splicing location into an electrical signal and a device for evaluating the electrical signal. The photoelectric sensing device can be a continuous layer or a series of photoelectric elements electrically interconnected and the device for evaluating the electrical signal produced by the photoelectric sensing device preferably includes ear phones which converts the electrical signal into an accoustical signal and the light being applied to the cable is applied with a frequency in the audible frequency range of an ear.

  • Patent number: 4321703
Abstract: A transmission system for telecopying and for distribution of in-house mail incorporates an electronic transmission system formed as a ring circuit, interconnecting a number of terminal devices which can transmit and receive messages. Information originating with the terminal devices circulates in the ring circuit until it reaches the receiver for which it is addressed, at which time it is erased. The transmission system may be employed to transmit the same information to a plurality of terminals, or to deliver a plurality of copies of the document to one terminal.
