  • Patent number: 10260337
Abstract: A method for determining one or more parameters of a formation fracture comprises injecting a viscous fluid in the formation via a flow path; measuring pressure at a location along the flow path; and calculating one or more parameters of a formation fracture based on the measured pressure. The method may permit improved and/or more efficient planning, design and/or performance of, e.g. conformance treatment of the formation fracture.

  • Patent number: 8781796
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating individualized predictions of alertness or performance for human subjects. Alertness or performance predictions may be individualized to incorporate a subject's individual traits and/or individual states. These individual traits and/or individual states (or parameters which represent these individual traits and/or individual states) may be represented by random variables in a mathematical model of human alertness. The mathematical model and/or prediction techniques may incorporate effects of the subject's sleep timing, the subject's intake of biologically active agents (e.g. caffeine) and/or the subject's circadian rhythms. The mathematical model and/or prediction techniques may incorporate feedback from the subject's measured alertness and/or performance.

  • Patent number: 8676444
Abstract: Embodiments of driver alertness monitoring systems, devices, and associated methods based on steering variability and/or lane variability are described herein. In one embodiment, a method for detecting alertness of a driver operating a vehicle includes recording a steering position of the vehicle with a steering sensor and transmitting the recorded steering position to a processor. With the processor, the method also includes deriving a steering variability based on the recorded steering position of the vehicle over time, calculating a lane variability based on the derived steering variability and a transfer function of the vehicle, and estimating an alertness of the driver based on both the derived steering variability and the calculated lane variability.

  • Publication number: 20090132332
Abstract: Computer implemented scheduling systems and associated methods are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for deriving a roster includes generating a roster within the operational constraint by assigning a plurality of workers to a plurality of individual shifts; calculating a value of the operational outcome based on the assigned shifts in the roster; calculating an overall fatigue value for the assigned individual workers based on the assigned shifts in the roster; and determining whether the generated roster is optimized based on the calculated value of the operational outcome and the overall fatigue value of the workers.
