  • Patent number: 5293688
Abstract: The present invention comprises a spacer, especially a spacer for use with a thrust roller bearing assembly. An internal radial lip projecting into the central aperture of the spacer provides for frictional retention on a shaft passing therethrough. Where the thrust bearing and spacer combination is to be installed in a bore, one or more external radial lips may be included to frictionally retain the spacer within the bore. The spacer element is adapted for coupling to one of the bearing elements. In one embodiment, the bearing and spacer may be bonded together. In another embodiment, the spacer and bearing are joined by mutually engageable circumferential locking surfaces. The spacer is selected from a plurality of spacers of differing axial dimension, each spacer being color coded according to its axial dimension.

  • Patent number: 4688953
Abstract: An interlocking thrust washer is disclosed as well as a method for its manufacture. It is made from a flat wire section which is bent into a ring and held together by a complementing tongue and mouth which are formed of opposite ends of the wire. By this method, there is no material wasted.

  • Patent number: 4113327
Abstract: A cam follower roller bearing or yoke roller bearing in which there is a stud or inner race surrounded by inner rollers on which an outside roller is mounted, with the outside roller and inner rollers retained in position by some form of retainers on the ends, and annular grooves toward the ends of the inside of the outside roller in which grooves there are annular seals having in cross section an intermediate portion parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bearing and a radial outwardly extending portion at the longitudinally outer end of the intermediate portion and a radial inwardly extending portion at the longitudinally inner end of the intermediate portion, with the intermediate portion being held with interference fit on the longitudinally inner portions of the outside of the retainer, the outwardly extending radial portion loosely fitting against the outer wall of the groove, and the inwardly extending radial portion being between the inner end wall of the retainer and the corresponding end wall of t
