  • Publication number: 20020096281
Abstract: Tissue paper having a bulk between 2 and 8 g/m3 and containing an amount of a wet strength agent, wherein the tissue paper contains a wet strength agent in the form of a nitrogen-containing polymer having hydrophobic side-chains. Said tissue paper before converting has a relative wet strength value (RWS) of at least 45%.

  • Patent number: 6416623
Abstract: Method of producing a paper having a three-dimensional pattern of alternating raised and recessed portions, which has been provided in connection with impulse drying, at which the wet paper web (10) is passed through at least one press nip (12) comprising a rotatable roll (13) which is heated and that the paper web during the passage through the press nip is given a three-dimensional pattern of alternating raised and recessed portions either by means of a patterned wire, band or belt and/or by a pattern on the heated roll (13) and where said pattern is pressed into the paper web against a counter means (11, 14). The wet paper web before said press nip is exerted to a creping- or other compacting procedure which foreshortens the length of the paper web. The invention also refers to a paper produced by the method, said paper having a high extensibility.

  • Patent number: 6344110
Abstract: A process for producing paper having a three-dimensional structure of alternating raised and recessed portions including passing a wet paper web through a heated press nip so the paper web is simultaneously dried by means of impulse drying and given a three dimensional structure. The heated press nip includes a heated pressure roll with a three dimensional pattern of alternating raised and recessed portions in its surface and a compressible surface. The compressible surface can be a compressible press felt which supports the wet paper web prior to and through the heated press nip. The compressible press felt may be pressed against a resilient compressible surface in the heated press nip away from the heated cylinder. The wet paper web may be a papermaking pulp containing at least 10%, and preferably at least 30% or 50% by weight of a high-yield pulp such as TMP or CTMP.

  • Patent number: 6068734
Abstract: Soft, bulky, absorbent paper containing at least 20 percent by weight of a high-temperature chemithermomechanical pulp (HT-CTMP), calculated on the total fibre weight. The paper also contains at least 10 percent by weight pulp that exhibits good strength properties, such as chemical pulp and/or recycled fibre pulp, and has a bulk of at least 5.5 cm.sup.3 /g. The bulk, absorption and liquid-dispersion properties of the paper are enhanced by admixing HT-CTMP with the paper pulp.
