  • Patent number: 6435295
Abstract: A radiator intended for an internal combustion engine or assemblies thereof is installed in an end area of a body of a motor vehicle, especially an automobile, in a space delimited by the outside walls of the body. The outside wall has shape sections that run at angles to one another, to which the radiator is then adapted at least areawise by its outside contour to produce advantageous installation conditions for the radiator.

Date of Patent: August 20, 2002
Assignee: Dr. Ing. h.c.F. Porsche AG
    Inventors: Hans Weigele, Dieter Zaremba
  • Patent number: 4700796
Abstract: A rear axle for a motor vehicle, especially for a four-wheel drive motor vehicle with a torsionally soft cross bearer member, includes longitudinal guide members welded to the ends of the cross bearer, whereby the wheels are supported on the longitudinal guide members; the cross bearer member together with guide members is pivotally connected at the body in bearings which are arranged in the center axis of the cross bearer. The cross bearer includes a center section with an opening for the passage therethrough of a drive shaft. This opening is so large that the drive shaft comes to lie approximately inside of the interior contour formed by the cross section of the bearer.

  • Patent number: 4592249
Abstract: A shift rod position indicator system for an automotive vehicle transmission includes a plurality of position sensors fixed to the housing of the transmission and actuating means moved by shift rods in proximity to the sensors which generate an electrical signal according to the displacement of the shift rod during the shifting operation, the electrical signal corresponding with initial and full engagement of the gear, the signal being maintained over the extent of gear engagement to provide an electronic control circuit with information so as to permit the synchronized operation of clutches to effect a semi-automatic gear change.

  • Patent number: 4297759
Abstract: A transportable floating bridge includes a bridge unit, a buoyant pontoon for supporting the bridge unit, a device carried by the pontoon for lifting and pivoting the bridge unit, a coupler for swingingly linking the bridge unit to a like pontoon supported bridge unit, and a coupling for rigidly coupling the bridge units together, whereby the floating bridge is easily formed from a plurality of bridge units regardless of whether the bridge units are located end-to-end or side-by-side after off-loading from their transport vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4288881
Abstract: A bridge laying apparatus of the type having a vehicle and at least two bridge sections which are transportable thereon in a superimposed position and are joinable into a bridge for spanning an obstacle by devices carried by the vehicle. The bridge includes plural tracks connected to one another via crossbeams and the device is arranged and guided between the bridge tracks and includes a launching girder that is partially embedded within a laying beam and supported by roller pairs arranged on both sides of the launching girder, a respective one of the rollers of these roller pairs serving for guiding and supporting the bridge on the laying beam and the other roller of the roller pairs serving for guiding and supporting the launching girder in the bridge. A guide arm is articulated to the vehicle and the laying beam is held thereon by rollers which enable longitudinal displacement of the laying beam on the guide arm. The guide arm is shiftable about a horizontal axis by way of a hydraulic cylinder unit.
