  • Patent number: 9145090
Abstract: A manual dimmable mirror assembly includes a mirror element having a first substantially transparent substrate and a second substantially transparent substrate. The first and second substantially transparent substrates are substantially parallel and define a cavity that contains an electro-optic medium. The mirror assembly also includes an input device and a controller in communication with the input device. The controller configured to control electrical power supplied to the mirror element, such that the mirror element transitions from a substantially clear state to a substantially dark state at least partially based upon the communication from the input device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 14, 2014
Date of Patent: September 29, 2015
    Assignee: GENTEX CORPORATION
Inventors: Brian J. Barksdale, Robert R. Turnbull, Happy T. Holden
  • Patent number: 8842358
Abstract: An apparatus, method, and process that includes a substantially transparent substrate having a first surface, a second surface, and edge extending around at least a portion of a perimeter of the substantially transparent substrate, wherein the edge being a laser induced channel edge having enhanced edge characteristics.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 1, 2013
Date of Patent: September 23, 2014
    Assignee: Gentex Corporation
