  • Patent number: 6123486
Abstract: An apparatus, which is intended for metering bulk materials, has a rotatable cell wheel (9) and a stirrer (2), arranged above the latter, and operates reliably even in the case of very sluggishly flowing bulk materials, in particular with small metering capacities, i.e., with the cell wheel (9) rotating slowly. For this purpose, the invention provides two different, isolated drives for the stirrer (2) and the cell wheel (9).

  • Patent number: 5704990
Abstract: A method of advancing material through a conveying conduit and blowing the conveying conduit free of material after conclusion of material conveyance includes the following steps: passing a conveying gas through a conveying conduit with a first flow rate for transporting the material therein; after conclusion of the conveying step, passing the conveying gas through a first gas inlet of an injector; drawing additional gas into the injector through a second inlet thereof by the conveying gas entering the injector through the first inlet; and passing a mixture of the conveying gas and the additional gas with a second flow rate, which is greater that the first flow rate, from the outlet of the injector through the conveying conduit for blowing the conveying conduit free of material.

  • Patent number: 5660215
Abstract: A loading apparatus for bulk material includes a loading tube having a longitudinal axis, an outer tube surface, an inner tube surface and a material discharge end; a deflection body having an outer body surface and being arranged generally coaxially with the loading tube at the material discharge end thereof. The deflection body is situated partially inside and partially outside of the loading tube. The outer body surface and the inner tube surface together define an annular channel surrounding the longitudinal axis. The outer body surface and the inner tube surface each has a terminal peripheral portion together defining a circumferential, deflecting and accelerating duct forming part of the annular channel and terminating in an annular outlet slot surrounding the longitudinal axis. The terminal peripheral portion of the outer body surface is oriented away from the longitudinal axis such as to effect a radially outward flow of the bulk material from the loading tube.

  • Patent number: 5169607
Abstract: A moving bed reactor for the treatment of fluid in a countercurrent process includes a reactor vessel having, in an upper region thereof, an inlet for receiving particulate material and an outlet for discharging treated fluid, the reactor vessel also having, in a lower region thereof, a downward tapering first funnel leading to an outlet, the first funnel guiding the particulate material to the outlet for discharge from the reactor vessel, the first funnel being formed by wall sections which mutually overlap in louvre fashion to create slot-shaped passages for the fluid to be treated to enter the vessel.

  • Patent number: 4978228
Abstract: Described is a mixing bin for mixing bulk goods, particularly by pure gravity flow, comprising a mixing pipe disposed at a substantially central location in an outer container and provided with a plurality of intake ports disposed at different levels for withdrawing bulk goods at different levels from a bulk goods column enclosed by the outer container. All intake ports open into a common interior space of the mixing pipe. A respective deflector baffle projecting into the interior space so as to obturate a part of the cross-sectional area thereof is disposed above each intake port to be passed by the bulk goods flow in the interior space.
