  • Patent number: 9177266
Abstract: According to the invention, a method for displaying genealogical records may include providing a plurality of genealogical records, providing a plurality of icons, and associating each genealogical record with an icon. The method may also include providing a genealogical display and positioning a first icon in a docking field of the genealogical display. The method may further include displaying on a display device the first icon in the docking field, information about the genealogical record associated with the first icon, and other icons that represent genealogical records linked to the genealogical record represented by the first icon, where the other icons are arranged according to their relationship with the first icon. The method may additionally include replacing the first icon in the docking field with a second icon representing a different genealogical record and updating the icons displayed on the display device without shifting focus from the displayed icons.

  • Patent number: 8786603
Abstract: Methods, devices and systems for implementing an interactive display of ancestor-to-ancestor relationships are presented. The method includes displaying on a display device of a computer system, a user interface for displaying one or more genealogical charts including one or more nodes. The method further includes receiving, from an input device of the computer system, a selection of a first node and a second node. Then, in response to receiving the selection of the first and second nodes, the method includes calculating a sequence of relationships connecting the first node to the second node. Finally, the method includes organizing the sequence of relationships into one or more steps, wherein each step contains a sequential subset of nodes and relationships that can be displayed at the same time, and sequentially displaying the nodes and relationships in each step on the display device.

  • Publication number: 20060208630
Abstract: A light emitting display comprising a first electrode layer on a substrate. The electrode layer is patterned to form a plurality of laterally spaced apart strips in a first direction. A plurality of spacedly disposed light emitting organic elements with a second electrode layer atop are disposed on the first electrode layer in a second direction. An undercut structure made of an undercut pattern transfer layer and an overlaying pattern transfer layer. The undercut structure is disposed between the plurality of spacedly disposed light emitting organic elements. A light emitting display having a color isolation well. The color isolation well is characterized by a first well layer and a second well layer in which the first well layer matches a property of an emissive polymer or small molecule dye held by the well whereas the second well layer does not match the property.

  • Patent number: 5456483
Abstract: A new and improved anti-jackknife apparatus for tractor to trailer connections includes a fifth wheel assembly connected to a tractor and a pair of locking pin assemblies connected to the fifth wheel assembly. Each of the locking pin assemblies includes an extensible and retractable lock pin. A control assembly is connected to the pair of locking pin assemblies. The control assembly is capable of being controlled by a first control signal in response to actuation of tractor brakes and is capable of being controlled by a second control signal in response to manual actuation of a bypass switch assembly by a tractor driver. A plate is connected to a trailer such that the trailer plate encircles a kingpin extending downward from the trailer. The trailer plate includes a pair of partially-ring-shaped slots adapted to receive the lock pins of the locking pin assemblies when the lock pins are in an extended position.
