  • Patent number: 4275526
Abstract: A thermal-break window of extruded frame members interconnected to form a substantially rectangular frame for encasing a glass panel in which each of the frame members is formed with a channel along its axial length. This channel contains a material of low thermal conductivity hardened in situ and with a strip of the extruded material along the channel being removed, effectively separating thereby each of the extruded frame members into two sections along their entire lengths, representing exterior and interior sections, that remain joined only by the material of low thermal conductivity. Consequently, the exterior frame sections are and remain thermally insulated from the interior frame sections. Furthermore, certain of the extruded frame members are designed to snap-fit to one another, providing for ease and simplicity in assembly.

  • Patent number: 4078288
Abstract: An entrance door with a plurality of extruded sections that are interconnected to form a rectangular frame, a glass panel mounted within the frame. The door is partially fabricated by punching openings at specified locations on the extruded sections. The openings are punched in a press that is provided with guideways and stops for positioning the extruded sections in alignment with a punching tool. The punched openings are configured to receive a lock mechanism and hinge hardware as well as tie rods that are used for interconnecting the sections.

  • Patent number: 4031665
Abstract: An adjustable entrance door with a plurality of extruded sections that are interconnected with tie rods to form a rectangular frame in which a glass panel is mounted. The extruded sections include a lead edge stile, a hinge stile, a top rail and a bottom rail, the tie rods extending through the rails and into the stiles. The top rail is provided with a block that engages the top edge of the panel for relative vertical movement of the lead edge stile and hinge stile. The bottom rail is fitted with an adjustable member that extends the width of the door and is vertically movable for alignment with a threshold.
