  • Publication number: 20210283095
Abstract: A method for treating unwanted cells in a patient by administering a first substance that is capable of forming a dehydroascorbic acid-like substance to the patient, thereby forming a pool of reactive molecules within the unwanted cells, and administering a second substance for reacting with the pool of reactive molecules within the unwanted cells, thereby forming a product within the unwanted cells.

  • Publication number: 20020176809
Abstract: The present invention provides for apparatus for the conditioning of air for human use. The apparatus is comprised of: (a) a fluid flux generator for generating a flux of particulate precursor material; an activator for activating said particulate precursor material in a gas-to-particle reaction for forming atmospherically unstable products for the encapsulation of harmful airborne agents.

  • Patent number: 6379427
Abstract: A method for protecting an exposed surface in an enclosed space, such as a building, medical room, manufacturing space or consultation room, from harmful airborne agents. Airborne agents are charged by exposure to an electrostatically-charged cloud and an electrostatically-charged field is created for electrostatically manipulating the harmful airborne agent away from or toward the exposed surface for protecting the exposed surface from the harmful airborne agent. The harmful airborne agent may be collected on a charged surface, and destroyed by ultraviolet light.

  • Patent number: 5858476
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for treatment of materials by producing gaseous product material in the form of high purity molecules including metal oxides, metal carbides, etc., using catalytic and non-catalytic processes, and stoichiometrically depositing the gaseous product material on articles, substrates or base materials in the fields of semi-conductors, superconductors, thin optical films, wear and corrosion and the like. The deposition of high purity gas phase material produced by the disclosed methods are useful in forming common refractory layers, films, and bodies such as ferroelectric, superconducting and semiconductor materials, to name a few. Catalytic reaction for the formation and desorption of the molecules, etc., may be monitored by the use of work function measurements. Such measurements also provide a basis for detecting the presence of impurities, gasification of the surface catalyst, and conditions which favor maximum gas phase molecular formation.

  • Patent number: 5780862
Abstract: A surface ion source apparatus (10) creates a high purity ion beam (44) of molecules of metal compounds having a lower ionization energy than the metal they contain. Low energy dispersion in the ion beam and currents on the order of one ampere are attainable over long duration operation. Rhenium screen (12) is used in the ion source and related catalyzer (31). Temperatures vary in the range of 700 to 2500 degrees centigrade and a preferred vacuum pressure of 10.sup.-5 torr, or lower, is used. Wear and corrosion resistance of a wide variety of materials is greatly enhanced through ion deposition and/or implantation with the disclosed apparatus and methods. This high output ion source is also useful for electronic propulsion, separation of isotopes and production of electricity by forcing ions through a transverse magnetic field, such as used with a magnetohydrodynamic generator.
