  • Publication number: 20220125343
Abstract: An otoscope includes at least one speaker and two microphones. The speaker is configured to generate a stimulus pressure wave and direct a planarized pressure wave toward an ear canal of a patient when the otoscope is at least partially inserted into the ear canal of the patient. The microphones are configured to record the forward stimulus pressure wave as it travels toward the TM and the reverse response pressure wave of the patient as it travels toward the otoscope. The quantitative relationship between the stimulus and the response is the diagnostic measure. The microphones are configured to record the pressure wave, the otoscope is configured to analyze the pressure wave, and the otoscope is configured to display results to a medical professional or user. The speaker and microphones are positioned outside the ear canal of the patient when the otoscope is at least partially inserted into the ear canal.

  • Patent number: 6604755
Abstract: A retention system for retaining a climbing skin to the tail end of a ski comprises an elongated resilient tensioning member secured to one end of the skin, a generally C-shaped clip adapted to removably hook about the tail end, and means on an upper portion of said clip for releasably retaining a portion of said tensioning member thereon. In the preferred embodiment the upper portion of the clip includes an aperture for receiving the tensioning member therethrough and a projection for engaging in one of several eyelets provided on the tensioning member.

  • Publication number: 20030006585
Abstract: A boot and binding assembly is arranged for use with a ski. The boot has a toe portion, a flexible sole and a heel portion. A rigid interconnect member is mounted to the toe portion underneath the sole of the boot. The binding includes a toe piece, a latch assembly, raised portions and a release mechanism. During use, the toe portion mates with the toe piece on the ski while one end of the interconnect member releasably mates with a latch assembly on the ski. When the interconnect member is secured to the ski by the latch, a skier can lift the heel portion away from the ski by flexing the sole. This enables a skier to execute cross-country and telemark style skiing maneuvers. The latch assembly may include a pivoting member which holds the rearward end of the interconnect member. The toe portion preferably has lateral edges for facilitating securement beneath the toe piece. Preferably, a cord and handle assembly is provided as the release mechanism to facilitate disengagement of the boot from the binding.

  • Patent number: 6471234
Abstract: A strap and climbing skin attachment assembly and kit having an elongated strap having a thickened end portion, two flat plates riveted to sandwich one end of the climbing skin, a rectangular cutout extending inward from the sandwiched end of the climbing skin between the plates, the unthickened end and body of the strap being insertable through an opening in at least one of the plates to thread the strap through the opening and between the plates until the strap is secured by the thickened opposite end engaging within the opening and in the cutout.

  • Patent number: 6412152
Abstract: A clip for connecting to a ring or the like has a resilient bow and first and second hook portions at first and second ends of the bow. The second hook portion has a pair of spaced apart hook parts. A hook is formed in each hook portion. The clip can be opened by squeezing the bow in a transverse direction until the first hook portion extends between the hook parts of the second hook portion with the hooks facing one another. The first hook portion extends far enough that a gap exists between the hook portions through which a ring may be inserted into the hooks. When the clip is released, the bow biases the hook portions outwardly so that the ring is captured in a loop formed by the hooks. The clip may be fabricated from resilient plastic. The clip has many uses anywhere that it is desirable to clip something to a ring or the like. The clip may be made so that it is easy to open while wearing gloves.
