  • Patent number: 10594421
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to an apparatus (300) and method (400, 600) for controlling a filter circuit (500) in a signal communication device (300). The apparatus (300) and method (400, 600) of the present disclosure receives (410) an indication of a plurality of channels used to transmit upstream communication signals in an upstream communication portion of a frequency range. Furthermore, the apparatus (300) and method (400, 600) of the present disclosure determines (420) a maximum frequency value among all frequencies used by the plurality of channels based on the indication and adjusts (430) a filter response in a filter circuit (500) used to separate the upstream communication signals from the downstream communication signals in a communication device (300) based on the determined uppermost frequency value.

  • Publication number: 20180241715
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to apparatuses and methods for providing network addressability for one or more logical entities associated with a communication interface of a tangible device in a network. In one aspect of the present disclosure, a media access control address of a communication interface is converted to an Internet Protocol address for a logical entity associated with the communication interface. When the apparatuses and methods of the present disclosure receive a communication signal including the converted Internet protocol address, the communication signal is provided to the logical entity associated with the Internet protocol address. In another aspect of the present disclosure, a user input received at a communication interface is mapped to an Internet protocol address to send a request to a logical entity.

  • Patent number: 8726319
Abstract: A bridge is provided for connecting multiple satellite receivers to multiple accessories in a video distribution system such as a direct broadcast satellite system. The bridge is designed for interposition between multiple satellite receivers (set top boxes or STBs) and controllable accessories (e.g. LNBs or multi-switches) of the video distribution system. The bridge provides controlled communication between STBs and controllable accessories using, for example, customized vendor extensions to the DiSEqC communication protocol. The bridge includes a communication protocol transceiver for each STB port, a communication protocol transmitter for each controllable accessory port, a mailbox for each STB port, a mailbox for the bridge, and a controller, processor, processing means or processing logic controlling or regulating video distribution system communication.
