  • Publication number: 20220252089
Abstract: Devices and systems for producing rotational actuation are described. Hydraulic and pneumatic actuators can produce and control rotational motion. A rotary joint may be configured to allow parallel coupling of multiple actuators, and thus increase the range of rotation of the actuators when considered collectively. The actuators may include pistons and piston rods having torus shapes. Methods of manufacturing rotary joints are also described.

  • Publication number: 20210210187
Abstract: Systems and methods manage goals and tasks for individuals based on factors such as time-series data retrieved from a wearable device, user input to one or more computing devices, and analysis of data corresponding to other individuals. Time series data retrieved from a wearable device is used to compute a value that is used to predict a warning of an adverse physical effect for an individual. Data such as heartrate, blood oxygenation, and/or distance traveled for an athlete, along with a recorded indication of the athlete's physical exertion for an athletic session, is used to compute a value that indicates whether an adverse physical effect is likely. If the value exceeds a threshold, then the system transmits a warning and/or modifies the individual's schedule for display on a calendar.

  • Patent number: 10360024
Abstract: The system provides a method and apparatus for the dynamic distribution, deployment, and configuration of optimizable code modules for use with software workflows running on a single compute device or across a network connected grid of compute devices. The system comprises one or more collections of software and data modules stored in a content catalog, conforming to a defined interface, and having metadata conforming to a schema that enables the modules to be statically or dynamically optimized by the controlling workflow and a workflow manager. The system provides a service that enables code modules to be located, deployed, configured, and updated by the controlling workflow, the workflow manager, or a remote manager.

  • Publication number: 20150170228
Abstract: The system and method allows an organization to receive different types of customer feedback, process the feedback, store the feedback, determine feedback that is related (such as multiple feedback items that are from the same customer, discuss the same product, service, or event), analyze the related feedback, and initiate actions based on the received customer feedback. The method and system may initiate actions based on whether the analyzed, related feedback exceeds a threshold. For example, the method and system may initiate customer recovery efforts if too many negative feedback items are received from the same customer. The method and system may assign weights to different types of feedback before completing the threshold calculation.

  • Patent number: 7100707
Abstract: An intact core sample from a soil area, such as a golf green or a ball field, is embedded in molded plastic. The core sample first is obtained, and then adhesively bonded together prior to molding it in clear plastic to preserve the soil core sample in an intact and durable fashion for subsequent visual examination of the composition of the soil core sample.
