  • Patent number: 7844728
Abstract: A method of supporting access to a selected Internet Protocol (IP) multimedia application via an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is provided for a roaming mobile node (MN)—i.e., user equipment (UE)served by a wireless telecommunications system. The method includes: includes establishing a first IP tunnel between the UE and a local access gateway of a visited network, the first tunnel being anchored at the local access gateway; establishing a second IP tunnel between the UE and a home gateway of a home network, the second tunnel being anchored at the home gateway; receiving data packets at the local access gateway for the UE; filtering the packets received at the local access gateway to suitably classify corresponding traffic into one of a plurality of data flows supported within the first tunnel at varying Quality of Service (QoS) levels; and filtering the received packets.

Abstract: A method of supporting access to a selected Internet Protocol (IP) multimedia application via an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is provided for a roaming mobile node (MN)—i.e., user equipment (UE) (10)—served by a wireless telecommunications system. The method includes: establishing a first IP tunnel (20) between the UE (10) and a local access gateway (30) of a visited network in which the UE (10) is roaming, the first tunnel (20) being anchored at the local access gateway (30); establishing a second IP tunnel (22?) between the UE (10) and a home gateway (40?) of a home network to which the UE (10) belongs, the second tunnel (22?) being anchored at the home gateway (40?); receiving data packets at the local access gateway (30) for the UE (10); filtering the packets received at the local access gateway (30) to suitably classify corresponding traffic into one of a plurality of data flows (20a, 20b, . . .

  • Publication number: 20090037962
Abstract: The present specification discloses is a method for providing a viewer (20) on-demand instant replay of live television (TV) being provided from a source (10) over a primary delivery channel. The method includes: obtaining a feed of the live TV supplied by the source (10); storing content from the obtained feed in a storage device (32); selecting a portion of the content from the storage device (32); and, delivering the selected portion of the content to a viewer's user equipment (UE) (24) while leaving uninterrupted the live TV provided by the source over the primary delivery channel.

  • Publication number: 20050049464
Abstract: The present invention provides a wireless communication system that includes a remote pharmaceutical administration device and a pharmaceutical network administration apparatus. The remote pharmaceutical administration device includes a monitoring device for monitoring the vital signs of a patient, an analysis processor for receiving the vital signs, a transceiver for transmitting the vital signs over a network and receiving an action plan over the network, and administration means for administering a prescribed medication to the patient. The remote pharmaceutical administration device can also include pre-stored pharmaceuticals and a remotely-run testing apparatus, such as an EKG machine, a blood sugar monitor, or a sphygmomanometer. The pharmaceutical network administration apparatus includes a network transceiver for receiving an action plan over the wireless network and a network processor that develops instructions. The network transceiver transmits the instructions over the wireless network.

  • Patent number: 5343526
Abstract: A system and method for establishing licensor changeable limits on shared software usage without the licensor having access to the system on which the shared software is running. An encrypted numerical limit value is embedded in the licensed software (program); when the program is executed ("accessed"), as a first step, the program decrypts the limit value and compares it to the number of users currently accessing the shared program. If the number of users is less than the limit, then access is allowed. If the number of users is equal to (or greater than) the limit, then access is denied.
