  • Publication number: 20210246740
Abstract: A connector system and method, of which the connector system includes a first conduit having a lower coupling and a first alignment feature, and a frame configured to be coupled to an oilfield tubular, and configured to receive the first conduit and a second conduit. The frame includes a second alignment feature configured to mate with the first alignment feature such that the lower coupling is aligned with the second conduit, and the first alignment feature is configured to slide vertically with respect to the second alignment feature such that the lower coupling is brought into engagement with the second conduit while the first and second alignment features are mated together.

  • Publication number: 20200165888
Abstract: An apparatus includes a tube having at least one flow outlet in communication with an interior of the tube. The apparatus includes valves for selectively connecting the flow outlet to one of a fluid return line and an inlet of a fluid pump. The apparatus also includes valves for selectively connecting the outlet of the pump to the fluid return line and closing the pump outlet. A method includes returning mud from a wellbore into a riser extending between the wellbore and a drilling unit on the surface of a body of water. Flow from a tube in the riser is selectively diverted to an inlet to a fluid pump or a mud return line extending from the tube to the drilling unit. When the flow is diverted to return mud flow in the riser is stopped above the tube. When flow is diverted to the inlet of the pump, the pump is operated to lift the mud to maintain a selected mud pressure in the wellbore.

  • Patent number: 9422789
Abstract: A diverter system having stabbing dogs is provided. In one embodiment, such a system includes a diverter, a housing, and a plurality of stabbing dogs coupled to the housing. The stabbing dogs are positioned to enable locking elements of the stabbing dogs to be extended into recesses in the diverter to secure the diverter within the housing. At least one of the recesses in the diverter is connected to a fluid conduit within the diverter, and at least one stabbing dog includes a fluid passage that enables fluid to be routed into the fluid conduit within the diverter through the at least one stabbing dog. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.
