  • Patent number: 6416217
Abstract: A timepiece has a removably attachable aquarium adapted to support aquatic life. Living aquatic pets are introduced into the aquarium prior to attaching the aquarium to the timepiece. A wearer of such timepiece is then able to contemporaneously tell time and enjoy watching the living aquatic pets. A kit is also provided with a timepiece, an aquarium and aquatic life adapted to be supported in said aquarium.

  • Patent number: 5031827
Abstract: A knock down spring whip assembly including a hollow housing which serves as a handgrip, and also stores a spring subassembly formed of lengths of helically wound springs of sequentially increasingly larger diameter size to move between a telescoped position within the housing and an extended whipping position projecting from one end of the housing with the springs wedgingly engaging each other in an end to end arrangement. A removable closure unit is provided for plugging the other end of the housing to define a storage compartment. The closure unit includes an integral magnet for retaining the spring subassembly in the telescoped position, where the closure unit can be replaced with other types of closure units. The housing includes a tapered end and an annular constriction for providing both a wedging engagement of the projecting springs as well as a positive locking action.

  • Patent number: 5014996
Abstract: A game utilizing a deck of playing cards. The playing cards each have letter designations in the upper left hand corner in each of two different invertible positions of the card with the letter designation differing from each other. In the lower right hand corner of each of the two invertible positions of the card, there is provided an "information center" giving the letter designation of the card should the card be inverted. Thus, as the cards are held in a hand, one adjacent to the other, both the letter designating the card in its upright position as well as the letter available to the card, should the card be inverted, are both visible to the player. Cards are selected and a word must be formed with the cards being able to be positioned in either of their two inverted positions. After the word is formed, the word is then used as an acronym in the formation of a sentence, with the sentence preferably being associated with the word itself.

  • Patent number: 4974953
Abstract: In an optical toy device and a method of manufacturing the same, a frame for eyeglasses is cutout of a blank which is provided with two pairs of holes aligned with each other and is coated with a vinyl material on a side thereof. Adhesive is applied to the reverse side of the blank, and two feathers are attached to its reverse side to overlap two holes on one half of the blank and form with the holes eyepiece lenses. The blank is folded at its backside together so that its halves are glued to each other. The frame having two eyepiece lenses are formed thereby. A temple bar folded to form thereon two hinges is heat-sealed to the frame. The feathers are attached to the frame in such fashion that the barbs of the feather overlapping one hole for one eyepiece are angularly oriented with the barbs of the feather overlapping another hole for the other eyepiece to produce an X-ray image of an object to be viewed.

  • Patent number: 4943822
Abstract: A camera with an eyepiece and a lens having a common field of view of an object. Two optical devices are provided, each capable of simulating an X-ray image of an object viewed through the device. A connecting mechanism enables each of the optical devices to be simultaneously brought into optical registry or completely out of optical registry with a respective one of the eyepiece and lens. The camera can then take regular pictures or simulated X-ray pictures and in each case the viewer can visually see the type of picture being taken.

  • Patent number: 4808138
Abstract: A bubble-making device, includes a container with an opening, and a removable cover for closing the opening in the container in liquid sealing relation. A pair of cords extend from the underside of the cover in spaced apart relation when the cover is withdrawn, the cords engaging a retractor mechanism in the container which keeps the cords tensioned while maintaining them in spaced apart relation. A separate cord joins the pair of cords near the underside of the cover. When the container is filled with a film making liquid and the cover is withdrawn with the cords, by bending the pair of cords against a long edge of the container opening a film is formed between the cords and the opening edge. A giant bubble may then be formed by holding the film against a wind.
