    Abstract: A free piston rabbit for an oil and gas well having gas seal and rotation features which improve its operation, reliability and durability. Circumferential grooves on the body of the rabbit have a turbulence-inducing configuration which improves their gas-sealing capacity while helically oriented slots develop rotation of the body of the rabbit to reduce the risk that the rabbit will become lodged in the production pipe and to improve its sealing capacity by hydrodynamic fluid action.
