  • Patent number: 4997165
Abstract: A collapsible bleacher safety railing for use in conjunction with collapsible bleacher assemblies which are well known and in common use. The railing includes vertical upright support members on which are mounted telescoping hand rail sections therebetween and which include safety panels mounted between the support members below the hand rail. The safety panels eliminate the need for multiple guard rails or comparable guard members and extend and collapse with the bleacher assembly. In one form of the invention, the top edge of the planar safety panel may replace the telescoping hand rail. The vertical support members are preferably angle bars positioned to nest together upon collapse of the bleacher. An improved form of safety hand rail is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4918896
Abstract: A telescopic flagpole for displaying a flag of banner in its extended position. The flagpole is capable of being retracted telescopically for easy installation and removal of the flag or banner. The retracted flagpole may be temporarily installed in a ground socket for use and removed for storage. The flagpole is composed of at least three rigid elongated cylindrical tubular segments having guide means to facilitate telescopic movement, stop means to limit extension of the tubular segments, and locking means for securing the segments in extended position. Means are provided for holding flags or banners of varying sizes free of twisting and entanglement around the flagpole.

  • Patent number: 4361991
Abstract: A seating and guard rail structure for bleachers having seating sections which may be compacted together to occupy a minimum space during storage and having guard rail units which may be compacted along with the seating sections. Mechanisms are included for turning the guard rail units when the seating sections are compacted to facilitate their storage and for turning the guard rail units back again to their normal upright position when the seating sections are expanded in preparation for use; also locking mechanisms are provided for locking the guard rail units in their upright positions when the seating sections are fully expanded for use, and means are provided for unlocking the guard rail units when the seating sections are compacted.

  • Patent number: 4114786
Abstract: A garment hanger having a body member and a pair of side arms pivotally attached to the body member, a vertical stem and pair of links each link being pivotally attached at one end to the lower end of the stem with one link having its other end pivotally attached to a mid-point on one of the arms and the other of the links having its other end pivotally attached to a mid-point on the other of the pair of arms, the stem being vertically movable with respect to the body member to bring the lower pivot point of the stem to a position above a straight line drawn between the median pivot points on the arms and against a stop, in which position the arms are locked against movement downwardly about their pivot points.

  • Patent number: 4006564
Abstract: A seating and hand rail structure which is foldable from a normal seating position into a folded storage position in which the rail as well as the seating structure is in a compact arrangement. The hand rail structure includes a plurality of upright posts which support the rail members. A rail member has its one end pivotally attached to one post and its other end pivotally attached to a slidable extension of a second post, the extension being movable upwardly of the second post when the structure comes toward the storage position. The rail member may be of telescoping sections which contract as the structure is brought toward storage position. A further feature is the provision of an automatic lock or preventing the upward movement of the extension when the seating is in extended position and automatic means for releasing the lock when the seating is moved toward storage position and the rail member pivoted to the extension has turned about its pivot to a predetermined degree.

  • Patent number: 3995832
Abstract: A collapsible bleacher railing in conjunction and for use with a collapsible bleacher section or sections, which includes normally vertical, upright, support sections having a plurality of telescoping handrail sections therebetween such that as the bleachers are moved to their relative locations, the handrail will extend and collapse therewith and therefore eliminate the requirement for removal from the bleacher sections.
