  • Publication number: 20220242249
Abstract: A method and arrangement are provided for controlling electric current in a tether cable of an electrically driven mining vehicle. An indicator of an equivalent cycle current that flows through said tether cable is determined, and one or more descriptors of an actual state of dynamically changing conditions of the tether cable are obtained. A current limiting value is determined on the basis of the indicator and the descriptors, and a total amount of current is limited that the mining vehicle draws through the tether cable to a value smaller than or equal to the determined current limiting value.

  • Patent number: 11063536
Abstract: For starting an AC electric motor of a mining vehicle, it is first accelerated to a first speed with a second AC voltage provided by an onboard battery-powered inverter of the mining vehicle. A phase of a first AC voltage taken from an external grid is compared to a phase of said second AC voltage. If the phase difference between the first and second AC voltages is larger than a predetermined limit, the speed at which said inverter rotates said AC electric motor is changed. If the difference between the phases of the first and second AC voltages is smaller than the predetermined limit, a change is made from rotating the AC electric motor with the second AC voltage to rotating the AC electric motor with the first AC voltage.

  • Publication number: 20060262929
Abstract: The present invention describes a method and system for verifying the identity of a user of a first terminal in a communication system having at least a communication network (NET), a first terminal (DTE) associated with the communication network (NET) and a service provider (SP) associated with the communication network (NET). In the method, a first logical channel is set up via the communication network between the first terminal (DTE) and the service provider (SP). The user of the first terminal is identified after the first logical channel set up via a second logical channel other than the established first logical channel between the service provider and the first terminal prior to providing any services to the caller.

  • Patent number: 7010694
Abstract: A method and system for the identification of an article marking device is based on the encryption of information and a biometric sample of the person to be identified, thus providing a marking device for effectively and reliably confirming the identity of an individual claiming ownership of the marking device or marked article. In practice, double verification of the authenticity of a claimed owner of the marking device is achieved. The first verification requires that the claimed owner know a private password for a key that has been used to encrypt the information stored in the marking device, and the second verification requires a match between a biometric sample taken from the claimed owner and a biometric sample code that is stored in the marking device or with information derived from the stored information.

  • Publication number: 20030140224
Abstract: A method and system for the handling of a transaction request sent to a server from a terminal device over a telecommunication network, where the transaction request includes identifying data of the requester, identifying data of a utilized network component, and the digital signature of the requester. In response to the transaction request, a transaction message is sent from the server to the terminal device and/or to identified utilized network component. Message-type data and subscriber data are appended to the transaction message before it is sent by the server. The appended message-type data and subscriber data are then extracted from the transaction message in the telecommunication network and are used as handling data for carrying out and otherwise in connection with the transaction.

  • Publication number: 20030078058
Abstract: The inventive method enables the signing and/or encrypting of a message to be transmitted from a sending party to a receiving party over a telecommunication network with the ability to ascertain from the message the identity of the sender and the integrity of the message contents. The message for transmission is divided into at least a header section, to which a sender identification is added, and a data section, to which a check element generated from the contents of the message is appended. The data section of the message is then signed and/or encrypted so as to permit the receiver to reliably identify the identity of the sender. Use of the check element additionally permits confirmation that the message contents have not been unintendedly modified or corrupted and that the message has been decrypted using the correct decryption key.

  • Publication number: 20030074557
Abstract: A method and a system for managing property such as articles, devices, apparatus, systems or information. The system includes a database (DB) for storing information relating to the property and its owner. An unambiguous identifier that individualizes the property is created based on information attached to the property; the identifier is saved to a database and is entered into the database as certified after fulfillment of a predetermined condition. Before it is saved to the database, the identifier is digitally signed using a certified signing key and data of the property owner is attached to the digitally signed identifier.
