Abstract: A mobile communication apparatus capable of presenting themes, a telecommunication system comprising a such apparatus, and a corresponding method are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a processor arranged to generate an audio signal in response to a set theme. The audio signal comprises a speech signal, wherein speech of the speech signal have voice characteristics which depend on the theme. Alternatively, processor is arranged to set a theme in response to contact information stored in a contact information database of the appatatus and associated with actions performed by the apparatus.

Abstract: A method in electronic messaging in a mobile telecommunications network for mobile communication terminals is disclosed. The method involves, in a sender terminal, the steps of generating an electronic message, associating the electronic message with a message notification, and representing the electronic message and the message notification in a signal which is transmittable over the mobile telecommunications network to a receiver terminal. The signal is adapted, when received in the receiver terminal, for performance of the message notification in a user interface of the receiver terminal as a notification of the reception of the electronic message. Further disclosed are an associated method in a receiver terminal, and a sender terminal and a receiver terminal capable of performing the respective method, as well as a system including such sender and receiver terminals.

In operation, the user prepares and stores a list of external devices with assigned IDs. The user further stores a list of phone numbers (phone book information) of contacts on the cellular network associated with the external devices for delivery of messages to the selected external device(s). The mobile device scans the network, and detects messages from associated contact source(s). The messages are stored by the ID. When the mobile device is within the coverage area of the external device, the mobile device transmits the message(s). The external device interprets the message for output to the intended recipient.

Abstract: The invention relates to a keyboard arrangement and a method for detecting an input character. In particular the invention relates to a method and arrangement for reducing the number of keys in a QWERTY-keyboard (20) or the like. One idea of the invention is to provide keys (210) with several characters and to provide alternative ways to press the key for entering a selected one of the alternative characters. The keys are preferably triangular or have three arms, and one of three characters can be selected by pressing the corresponding corner/arm of the key. The keyboard may preferably be formed of interlaced rows of keys. Linguistic disambiguation is advantageously used in addition to said mechanical disambiguation. The invention is well suited for mobile station keyboards.

When the query message is sent to more than one recipient, all reply messages cause updating of the same table. The sender of the query messages can read the reply messages in the normal manner, and through the reply message or the original message he can also pass to reading the content of the table, or a summary of the replies. The information contained by the reply messages of the query is seen in compressed form in a specific table, and need not be collected manually.

Abstract: A communication device includes a simplified interface to the user limiting the user to use a keypad, light sources and an audio capability to operate the communication device. Having the voice playback capability and a limited number of keys on the keypad to co-operate in the operation of the communication device, the user is still able to perform the basic functions of a communication device.
