  • Publication number: 20230271124
Abstract: A straining apparatus is provided for installation on a container, the container having a cavity and a rim. The straining apparatus includes a body portion defining a volume, the body portion made of a screen material configured for insertion into the cavity. A collar portion defines an opening to the body portion and is configured to fold over the rim when the body portion is disposed in the cavity. A closure mechanism is coupled to the collar portion. The closure mechanism is configured to face away from the container when the collar portion is folded over the rim, thereby allowing convenient access to the collar portion. The closure mechanism is lockably adjustable and configured such that it holds the collar portion against the container in a predetermined position below the rim.

  • Patent number: 5573120
Abstract: A storage container including an outer case having a bottom tray and a cover hinged to it and a tongue assembly in the bottom tray. The tongue assembly can be integrally formed, with the bottom tray and/or the cover or separately formed and subsequently inserted into the bottom tray. When separately formed it can include an outer frame and a tongue extending from the frame side to which it is pivotally attached to the frame center. The tongue has a compact disc retainer mounted thereon for fitting into a center opening of a compact disc and holding the compact disc in the frame center when the tongue is in a "down" position. When the tongue is in an "up" position, pivoted relative to the one frame side, the compact disc is lifted up away from the frame and bottom tray for easy access thereto. The tongue, the frame and the hinge therebetween are preferably integrally formed together and as one unit. According to one embodiment the tongue is formed with a natural upward or raised bias, an elastic memory.

  • Patent number: 5165534
Abstract: A packaging case for storing and presenting elongated objects, such as pencils (103, 704), and flat objects, such as computer disks (350, 604), includes a base (50, 606, 710) having a plurality of upright partitions (58, 622 and 630, 614, 626, 706 and 708, 712) hingedly attached thereto at spaced locations, and at least one shelf (68, 618, 714 and 715, 723 and 724) attached to the partitions. The shelves have openings (66, 620, 718, 722) for receiving the objects and holding them parallel to the partitions. When the partitions are upright, the objects are held upright. When the partitions are folded down, the objects and shelves will be close and parallel to the base so as to provide a very compact package for easy transportation and/or storage. The case can be closed by fold-over flaps or ends (56, 608, 610, 749) which are separate from or one piece extensions of the base. The partitions can be urged to their upright positions manually or by elastic bands (196, 636, 740) or springs (106).

  • Patent number: 4947984
Abstract: A packaging case for presenting elongated objects (such as pencils (103) and flat objects, such as computer disks (350), for easy removal and selection and for transporting and storing such objects in a compact and protected condition. The case comprises a base (50) having a plurality of upright partitions (58) hingedly attached thereto at spaced locations, and a plurality of shelves (68) attached to spaced, corresponding locations on said partitions. The shelves have elongated slots (66) for receiving the objects and holding them parallel to the partitions. When the partitions are folded upright, the objects are held upright so that they will be spaced and can all be easily seen, selected, and replaced. When the partitions are folded down, the objects and shelves will be close and parallel to the base so as to provide a very compact package for easy transportation and/or storage.
