  • Patent number: 5826251
Abstract: A dual-line system of controlling or monitoring processes or industrial plants employing a dual-line fuzzy unit is presented in which due allowance can be made for both positive and negative rules. These are rules issuing "positive recommendations" and "warnings" or "prohibitions" for the selection of the values of the output variables for the fuzzy unit. The dual-line system enables logical compromises to be made between these "recommendations" and "warnings" or "prohibitions". Along with the possibility of drawing on positive empirical knowledge, use of this dual-line system also creates the possibility of utilizing negative empirical knowledge with the same degree of transparency with which positive empirical knowledge has previously been used in conventional fuzzy units. The warnings serve to protect the plant or resources or to prevent undesirable control behavior. The inclusion of warnings or, more especially, prohibitions is also of interest for warranties of operational reliability.

  • Patent number: 4558817
Abstract: In a pressure compensated mixing valve, the hot and cold water lines each include electrically actuated valves. Each valve has a movable valve rod coupled to a valve cone via a deformable member. The deformable members are acted upon such that as water pressure increases or decreases, the deformable member moves the valve cone to a more closed or opened position.

  • Patent number: 4359186
Abstract: A mixing valve arrangement for producing temperature controlled water wherein an electromagnetically actuatable supply valve is coupled in each of the hot and cold water supply lines is described. Electronic control loop circuits generate a temperature control signal from both a temperature preselector and a temperature detector and a volume control signal from both a volume preselector and a mixed water flow volume detector. An electronic decoupling circuit is interposed between the two control loop circuits and the valve actuating circuits to derive control signals representative of the degree of opening of the two supply valves from the temperature and volume control signals.
