  • Patent number: 5580588
Abstract: An apparatus for transporting and/or decurling a strip of photosensitive material. The apparatus includes a plurality of rollers and a drum. A belt is wrapped about the plurality of rollers and are positioned such that the belt forms a receiving pocket for holding and retaining the drum and for rotating the drum about its axis. At least one of the plurality of rollers being connected to a drive mechanism so as to move the belt about the rollers so as to cause the drum to rotate about its axis of rotation. The belt is in direct contact with the outer surface of the drum for a predetermined distance about the circumference of the drum forming a first film path. The first film path has an entrance for receiving film and an exit for allowing film to leave the film path. A heater may be provided which is associated with the heating drum for heating the drum to a predetermined temperature.

  • Patent number: 5540400
Abstract: A universal film thrusting cartridge includes a tab connected to a fixed diameter spool core and connectable with a filmstrip of optional length, the tab being sized for use with the shortest filmstrip and trimable to fit longer filmstrips so that when wound within the cartridge the film roll has a prescribed outer diameter at the leading outer end. The trimable tab avoids different core sizes for each filmstrip length in order to obtain the prescribed outer roll diameter needed to match the cartridge wall and allow thrusting of the film out of the cartridge on reverse winding of the spool.

  • Patent number: 5320300
Abstract: A self-threading take-up magazine for a strip material comprises a magazine casing having an interior chamber, a winding core rotatable within the interior chamber to wind the strip material onto the core, and guide means for directing the strip material along the interior chamber towards the winding core to permit the strip material to be threaded to the core. According to the invention, the magazine casing has a web guide portion which is moveably connected to a remaining portion of the magazine casing for opening movement into the interior chamber to extend to the winding core to constitute the guide means and for closing movement out of the interior chamber away from the winding core to make room for the strip material to be wound onto the core.
