  • Patent number: 4965961
Abstract: A trellis wire support assembly for use with metal grape stakes including aa metal trellis wire support clip and a fastener which secures the clip to the grape stake. The clip is formed with a securement portion having a clip shoulder which engages a vertically extending stake shoulder. Extending from the ends of the securement portion of the clip are trellis wire support portions which are preferably slotted to movably receive trellis wires. The slots are formed so that the trellis wires will not be lifted out of the clip during growing of the grapewine foliage. A method of adapting metal grape stakes to vertical trellising using the clip is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4432824
Abstract: The invention is a method and device for providing a protective coating for the inside of pipes, said method utilizing a device which is remotely actuated from outside said pipes. Specifically, the device comprises a memory metal delivery means, a corrosion resistant liner means, and a bonding means, said device expanding upon application of heat toward the inner wall of the pipe to cause the bonding means to flow progressively between the liner means and the inside of the pipe to thereby preclude air entrapment and to bond said liner means to the inside of the pipe.

  • Patent number: 4390599
Abstract: The invention is a device utilizing a sheet of memory metal being recoverable in substantially a single direction within the plane of said sheet of memory metal wherein said sheet has a plurality of perforations of a particular pattern and shape which enhance the recovery of said sheet in said direction beyond the inherent recovery of the memory metal comprising said sheet.

  • Patent number: 4386629
Abstract: A device for providing a protective coating for the inside of pipes, said device being remotely actuated from outside said pipes. Specifically, the device comprises a high modulus engineering plastic delivery means, a corrosion resistant liner means, and a bonding means, said device expanding upon application of heat toward the inner wall of the pipe to cause the bonding means to flow progressively between the liner means and the inside of the pipe to thereby preclude air entrapment and to bond said liner means to the inside of the pipe.

  • Patent number: 4355664
Abstract: A method and device for providing a protective coating for the inside of pipes, said method utilizing a device which is remotely actuated from outside said pipes. Specifically, the device comprises a memory metal delivery member, a corrosion resistant liner member, and a bonding member, said device expanding upon application of heat toward the inner wall of the pipe to cause the bonding member to flow progressively between the liner member and the inside of the pipe to thereby preclude air entrapment and to bond said liner member to the inside of the pipe.

  • Patent number: 4314718
Abstract: The invention is a composite pipe coupling having a corrosion resistant liner which seals pipes to be coupled by utilization of a heat recoverable metallic material and having a pair of complementary heat recoverable metallic tensile rings and an external support structure which supplement the tensile strength of said liner, and of the overall coupling.

  • Patent number: 4226448
Abstract: A novel coupling member which comprises a hollow, generally tubular metal member which is heat-shrinkable or can be rendered heat-shrinkable in the radial direction and is provided on its inner surface with at least three teeth in the form of radially extending rings, the distance (t) between any pair of adjacent teeth being less than 0.95 d and less than 4 w, where d is the internal diameter of the tubular member, and w is the wall thickness of the tubular member, there being at least one tooth either side of the tooth nearest the center of the tubular member, the distance from the center of the member to the tooth nearest the center of the member being from 0 to 0.3 d and the distance between the two teeth adjacent the tooth nearest the center of the member being more than the smaller of 0.4 d and 3 w. Such a coupling member can be expanded by mandrel expansion methods without danger of damaging the teeth.
