  • Patent number: 5537937
Abstract: This is a pallet as might be used to support cargo during that cargo's transportation or storage. The pallet is constructed of paper. The pallet design involves a central platform or deck constructed of a honeycomb filler supported by a set of runners extending from one edge of the central platform to the other and is bounded on all of the bottom surfaces by a single corrugated sheet. The runners are then modified by cutting away appropriate portions to form a four way pallet. The cut portions are then reinforced by addition of reinforcing corrugated sheets. The upper surface of the central platform may be covered with a corrugated sheet or heavy sheet stock. Additionally, the upper and/or lower sheets may be folded over the edges of the honeycomb core and fastened to the other side. This design permits a flexible and inexpensive method of producing either four- or two-way pallets.

  • Patent number: 5385103
Abstract: This invention is an adaptor to convert a paper pallet from a two way entry design to a four way entry design. The pallet with the adaptor might be used to support cargo during that cargo's transportation or storage and is typically constructed of paper. The pallet design onto which the adaptor is placed typically involves a central platform or deck constructed of a honeycomb filler bounded on the bottom surfaces by a corrugated sheet. Runners or legs are included to support the central platform. The adaptor is, in turn, fit onto the bottom of the pallet and separates the runners from the floor in such a way that a forklift or other materials handling device may reach the beneath the pallet from any of four different directions. The adaptor is constructed from a series of honeycomb cores bounded on their bottom and sides by a single folded sheet of corrugate.

  • Patent number: 5269219
Abstract: A inexpensive pallet design is described for transporting loads fabricated form paper products consisting of a load-supporting deck, a top cover sheet with tuck tabs that provides a fastening and link to the runners, a bottom sheet glued to the deck that provides a solid surface to attached the runners, and runners spaced apart and at the appropriately height to provide access and maneuverability to the forks or a forklift or handjack. The construction of the pallet being a combination of paper, paperboard, corrugated paper board, honeycomb and adhesive and the fabrication of the pallet reduced to a minimum of parts provides a sufficiently strong yet lightweight support for goods competitive in cost to conventional wood pallets.

  • Patent number: 5213050
Abstract: This is a pallet as might be used to support cargo during that cargo's transportation or storage. The pallet is constructed of paper or functionally equivalent sheetstock. The pallet design involves a central platform or deck constructed of a honeycomb filler supported by a number of footblocks holding the central platform off the floor. The bottom of the pallet is covered by a combination of sheets patterned in such a way that the legs supporting the central platform are integral with that central platform; that is, the footblocks (or legs) do not have a seam at their juncture to the central platform. Desirably the lower portion is formed of two sheets; one sheet ("the bottom cover") is cut and folded in such a way that the legs and the surface adjacent the bottom of the central portion are of the shape in which the pallet is finally used.
